“The NT is part of a complex of buildings on the South Bank of the Thames. It is a great place to spend time in comfort with a coffee and cake, listening to free live music, especially jazz. Nice cafe and shop, some restaurants in case you want a full meal. Lots of paid parking under cover. Very accessible. Great bookstall on the embankment just outside the National Film Theatre.”

History Museum
“IWM London is the world’s leading museum of war. Founded during the First World War, it gives voice to the extraordinary experiences of ordinary people forced to live their lives in a world torn apart by conflict. It's huge, over six floors, and the last time I visited it had exhibits covering World War 1 and 2, how they affected families and a sort of trench exhibit you could walk through to learn about soldiers experiences. It's free, like all museums in London, but you can make a donation or sometimes have to pay to see certain exhibits. ”
