Pretty, old village beside a Loch and beside Arthur's Seat. The old Kirk and gardens are a lovely to wander around and you can walk around the Loch - great for bird walking. Great, ancient traditional pub called The Sheep Heid which also sells great pub grub - a must for a traditional Sunday Lunch…

Lovely little village by Arthur's Seat. It also features the oldest pub in Edinburgh, the Sheep's Heid.

Point of Interest
“The street that links Edinburgh Castle at the top down to the Palace of Holyrood at the bottom. Lined with charming townhouses, a cathedral and historic landmarks as well as restaurants and shops. Make sure to explore some of the little lanes leading off from the Royal Mile where you'll find some teal hidden gems.”

“Mobile outdoor cafe beside the arcades on the Prom. Serves good takeaway coffee, bacon rolls and pancakes - perfect for breakfast whilst walking on the beach. The arcade has penny slot machines and inexpensive games which is a good way to entertain the kids. It also sells legendary Luca's Icecream ”

“South Clerk Street/Newington Road is full of charity shops. Charity shops are basically second hand shops, that give all of their profits to charities e.g. Oxfam, The British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research etc. They are a very popular place for students to strike a deal and for some fashion victims to find some retro clothing. They do sell many other things apart from clothing though, as for example books, DVDs, games, glassware, arts and so on. You fancy a good read but don't want to spend a fortune or you didn't bring warm enough clothing and just need a sweater for the few days you are in Edinburgh? Charity shops are the answer... Charity shops can however be found all over Edinburgh.”

Teázó
“The best formal Afternoon Tea in town - is in the Balmoral Hotel on the corner of Princes Street & North Bridge. Very elegant, with a musician playing gentle music from the minstrel's gallery above. Allow a couple of hours for this haven from the busy city.”
