Great urban hiking option; good amount of foot traffic but lots of options and good for people watching. Hike up to the observatory for sunset for a classic view of LA proper.

The largest municipal park in the country. It truly has it all: Observatory, LA Zoo, Greek Theater, horseback riding, hiking trails, and the Bat Cave!
