The KwaZulu Weavers factory was established some 15 years ago, bringing together generations of experience in weaving. KwaZulu Weavers rugs are woven by master weavers who have through generations handed down the fine art of African weaving and ethnic design. Each step is carefully monitored to ensure the rugs conform to the highest international standard. All rugs are hand woven, using the finest wools available. What makes the company unique is its process of manufacturing. The weavers receive raw wool in bale form, complete the washing process, mothproof the rugs and handle the various processes of colouring and carding of the wool. The fibres are then spun for further processing before they are made into your own selected personal rug. Before dispatching, the rug enters the finishing department for completion and quality control. Producing a KwaZulu Weavers rug is a long and rewarding process, as each fibre is joined, worked and finally spun into threads. This is then hand-woven into a magnificent masterpiece. The designs and colours make the rugs unique.
