Olympic National Park in Washington State is like three parks in one, taking you from breathtaking mountain vistas with meadows of wildflowers to colorful ocean tidepools and valleys of ancient forests. About 95 percent of the park is wilderness. There are many kid-friendly hikes in Olympic…

Many places to go hiking. Stunning views whether you're going hiking or just to drive up to a visitor center. Get up early to get there before the long line forms with other visitors. You'll need to buy a park pass if you don't already have one.

“I would travel to the Lake Crescent Lodge (about 20 minutes away) for a sunset drink and appetizer in their lounge, which has a fantastic view of the lake. And ohhhh, what a lake! ”

Campground
“If you're down on the Pacific Coast by Ruby Beach and the Hoh Rain Forest turn-off, consider stopping at the Kalaloch Lodge for lunch or dinner. Open year-round and a very scenic walk to the beach. You can also see the Tree of Life at the Kalaloch Campground just a minute down the road.”

Forest
“Hoh Rain Forest.
This area (also west on Hwy 101), is on the west side of the Park near the beaches, and has the most glorious old growth trees to be found. There are two short nature loop trails through the forest near the Visitor Center; the Hall of Mosses Trail, and the Spruce Nature Trail. They are both absolutely jaw dropping. Do a Goggle image search, keyword “Hoh rainforest”. Start with: www.nps.gov/olym/planyourvisit/visiting-the-hoh.htm.  ”
