If going into the City this is one of my favourite pubs which serves amazing food too. Edinburgh has many lovely restaurants and bars.

Really nice bar hidden down a sidestreet, so can be less busy than other places during tourist season. Not the cheapest, but good wine, cocktails, and nibbles.
