A lovely museum , based in a real original railway station where the first Railway train in the world made its first ever journey in 1825 and Stephenson Rocket is in the museum .

20 minute walk. If you love trains, you will love the Head of Steam Museum. The first passenger railway came from Darlington, so our rail credentials are excellent.
