This is one of our favorite day trips in the area. Sanibel and Captiva is a scenic 45 minute drive. The boat trip is from 10 am-3 pm, we love going to Cabbage Key boat trip. We enjoy a scenic, informative boat ride and then enjoy lunch at the restaurant. There is time to walk the nature trail, climb the tower for a great photo op and watch the turtles wander the property. Every time we take this boat cruise we see pods of dolphin. It's reasonably priced and an outstanding way to spend the day!

Take a half of day cruise out to Cabbage Key--small island that inspired Jimmy Buffet's Cheeseburger in Paradise. Each lunch at the restaurant on the island (there's only one). Potentially will see Manatee and/or Sea Otters (walk around the docks to try to spot them). On the way out/ back high changes of seeing dolphin.
