This famous old fashioned Michelin Star restaurant is rated the best in Barcelona by the Macarfi guide. With quality classic but creative Catalan dishes served in Belle Epoque surroundings, it has been ran by the Monje family since 1967 and boasts a wine cellar with over 1400 bottles. The formal silver service is without doubt the best in town with staff dressed in tuxedos and bow-ties. Young Head Chef Sergio Humada is the son of famous Basque chef Juan Mari Humada and was already running his own restaurant by the age of 20, having worked in kitchens since he was only 13, including stints at the "Best Restaurant in the World", El Celler de Can Roca, amongst others. Open for lunch and dinner. Closed Sunday and during the day time Saturday.
