This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Austin. It is set in a small house and it has a nice cozy/stylish feel. This is a perfect spot for weekend early birds, its usually packed later in the morning on weekends. I like this place best early on a weekday morning. Definitely recommend their mocha or cappuccino.

Halcyon is a stylish spot for drinks later in the evening or coffee during the day. Its right downtown so its close to all the other great spots for nightlife. Its a perfect spot for starting out your night!

Easy Tiger is a fun spot for beer lovers. They have wonderful selection of beer (local and otherwise) and great baked pretzels. They have out door seating right next to Waller Creek and its a great spot to meet some of Austin's friendly people. There are also ping pong tables available there if you like to play!

They have out door seating right next to Waller Creek and its a great spot to meet some of Austin's friendly people. There are also ping pong tables available there if you like to play!
Check out a show at this iconic South Congress music venue. You can also head upstairs to The Gallery for a more laid back vibe and enjoy a cozier setting with live music and drink.

Sightseeing
The capitol building and accompanying grounds are a nice place to spend a morning. There seems to always be something going on at the capital building on weekend mornings whether it is some activist event or some other public event. Definitely worth a visit just to enjoy the area!

Mount Bonnell is a little ways out of town but its a perfect spot to check out in the middle of the day. You'll be able to catch a cool view of downtown and also be about to look over Lake Austin.

If you're here in the spring then you'll want to check out Blues on the Green on select evenings. This is also where ACL is held.

Check out the only State Park within Austin's city limits. The park is a short drive away from the apt and you can enjoy the outdoors here. This spot is great for a short day trip and you can easily see all the highlights in a couple hours.
