One of my favourite little bars and restaurants in St Kilda. They don't take reservations, so settle into the back bar (access via the side laneway) while waiting for a table. Italian-Australian food.

Perfect lunch spot on a warm sunny day. Service is so-so, food is basic, but who cares when lazing in a deck chair with sand b/n the toes. This section of beach is a dog-off-leash area. Mine loves it!

Carb load on yummy pizza and pasta at this popular local. If doing dinner here, head over to the Newmarket Hotel (opposite) for a night-cap.

Drinks & Nightlife

What was once a very seedy pub you wouldn't be seen dead into, is now a buzzy gastro-pub, popular with friends and family catching up for dinner and drinks.

This gay bar is one of the only ones left in Melbourne (we're all so mainstream now!) - come of a Friday or Saturday night for a young crowd, latest dance hits and over-the-top drag shows. Gets busy!

Albert Park village is one of my favourite areas to hang out, check out the shops and array of eateries. Some of the best are down Victoria St, but start here with a cool beverage and be on your way!

We have a horse race "The Melbourne Cup" on the first Tuesday of the month, and almost everybody in Australia will "stop" to watch it, as well as place a bet. That's the first Tuesday in November! And if you actually want to go to the races, well Thursday 9th November is known as "Ladies Day" or "Oaks Day"!
