This Austin restaurant is quickly becoming Chipotle's rival. They specialize in Berlin-style kebaps. The sauces they put on top are what make it. My favorite are their house and vinaigrette sauces.

Thai food. One of my favorite restaurants in Austin. Dim, intimate lighting. Try the Jungle Curry- it's spicy, but they provide coconut cream with the plate. The cream cancels out the spicyness. Tea selection is great too (they serve it in traditional teapots).

After eating, walk down Waterston Avenue to the Haskell House, its one of the few, albeit one of the most important, pieces of African American history in Austin.

French-Vietnamese restaurant in nice setting. Try any of the phos. I personally really enjoy the dessert options paired with the Vietnamese coffee.

Don't be fooled by articles that claim Torchy's serves the best tacos in town! These are the most authentic (and healthiest) tacos in town! The tortillas are fresh and made right there. My favorite is the Reyna taco and I add some chicken to give it a little more protein.

French. Probably my favorite restaurant in Austin. Fixed price menu and worth every dollar. Make sure to try the wine pairings, it will probably add another 30-40 per person to the bill, but I highly recommend it.

My personal favorites: Banger's (outdoors music and hot dogs, great for day); Lucille (laid back atmosphere for night); Icenhauer's (great cocktails and beer selection); Container Bar (space made up of industrial containers. Good live music as well).

Parking is next to Highway 1. Nice place to hike and spend afternoon. There are several nooks where you can lay down and relax. My favorite place is Sculpture Falls. About a 20 min hike from freeway.

Not as popular as the Greenbelt, but my favorite trail in Austin. It takes you through hills and creeks and the entire circular hike takes about 1 hour if you do it non stop. Check out pics of the place online.
