Long Vue House and Gardens is a city estate with a Classical Revival-style mansion surrounded by eight acres of drop dead gorgeous gardens--actually there are 14 garden areas on site and 22 fountains. The mansion is a museum, one of the last Country Place Era homes left in America. And of course a gift shop.

The building also once served as the center of New Orleans government before becoming the headquarters of the Louisiana Supreme Court where Plessy v. Ferguson was decided in the year of 18something. Its current purpose is to educate folks about Louisiana history, so check it out.
