This is a traditional Japanese house built in the countryside of Iga, the home of the ninja. Although you can come by public transportation, it is more convenient to come by car as it is quite a rural area. The hot spring is 5 minutes by car. It takes 20 minutes by car to the castle town of Iga Ueno. 25 minutes to Mokumoku Farm. 30 minutes to Igayaki no Sato. 45 minutes to Suzuka Circuit. 50 minutes to Akame Shijuhachi Falls National Park. 1 hour to Ise Jingu. 1 hour to Horyuji Temple.

As featured on the NYTimes T list, this property is a "Kyomachiya", a traditional Japanese home over 100 years old. It has been revamped from a "Nishijin-ori" (traditional Japanese textile) factory. It is located in the traditional Kamigyo Ward, minutes walk from the Imperial Palace. We collaborated with award winning architects at Ikken to renovate this space, which now accommodates the comforts of modern life, while retaining many of the original structure and elements from its past.

The surroundings are full of nature, and if you are lucky, you can see animals such as wild deer, boars and squirrels. This is a nice place to visit Kyoto, just near the river Shirakawa, a really nice place sometimes used for movies or series. The house is near Chioin, Kodaiji, Higashiyama, Yasaka shrine. Just near the house, there is an old market where you can buy and eat Japanese food.
