Little Bear Studio/Den is part of a house located at Little Bear Farm, an 8 acre private property with a large yard and field for romping with a dog, sledding, or walking around our pond and fields. Conveniently located near Banner Elk and Valle Crucis, we are close to shopping or the slopes. We are adjacent to 450 acres of forest that is part of the Blue Ridge Conservancy, offering hiking trails to the public. Our log cabin nestled in the “High Country” of North Carolina has been in the family since 1979 when my grandparents, looking for a place to retire, moved here after falling in love with the area. The cabin was originally built in Virginia but was moved to Valle Crucis in the 1950s. Our dream has been to turn it into a peaceful mountain get-away for people looking for a break from the busyness of life to enjoy some time in the valley to rest, relax and explore the area.

We invite you to stay in our beautifully remodeled apartment in the lower level of our home in the heart of Valle Crucis (we live upstairs). Guests have exclusive access to the patio and deck just outside the suite with the most spectacular views in the area. Enjoy meals on the patio while overlooking Dutch Creek and the surrounding mountain views. We've lived here for 47 years and remodeled the lower level in 2020 to allow us to share this special place with others!
