There is room in the driveway to park the boat for fishing trips. 5 minutes to the boat ramp or 10 minutes to Langs beach, 10 minutes to Mangawhai golf course or 30 minutes to the Te Arai golf course.

Mara cottage is part of the 315ha Tahi ecological sanctuary, including restored wetlands, lakes and forests. You will have the choice of walking one of the many tracks, swimming from the beautiful white sand surf beach or fishing and kayaking in the estuary. Surfing lessons and standup paddleboards are available locally, along with horse trekking through a neighbouring property or along the beach.
