Ship watching may become a favourite if you allow yourself the time. Burnie is the gateway to many popular tourist destinations, for instance, Cradle Mountain, the Nut at Stanley, beachside villages, and is some 35 minutes from the ferry terminal. Burnie boasts many fine public gardens, waterfalls, walkways, free penguin tours.

Spend some quality time enjoying each other’s company in this beautifully decorated tiny designed for couples, on the banks of lake Barrington with beautiful views of farmland and Mount Roland in the distance. Snuggle up on the bay window couch beside the roaring Meg wood fire, and maybe even toast a Marshmallow. In summertime ride your bike down to the lake for a swim or bring a canoe with you to explore the bays & waterfalls the lake has to offer.

Relax, long walks, swim and enjoy. Private, great views of beach. Only 12 minutes from Stanley, 20 mins from Smithton, which has a large supermarket. 25 minutes from Wynyard. Rockycape Taven, great meals only just 5 minutes away. Plus 2 petrol stations that do take away and groceries. Explore this lovely area, with heaps to see and do. Or just kick back and relax. Portsea Cottage

Our light-filled cottage is situated in a quiet street a short stroll to beaches, and local amenities. It is a 15 minute drive to the Devonport airport and a 5 minute drive to the local shopping precinct. Our peaceful cottage has two large bedrooms. Bedroom 1 contains a king size bed which can also be configured as twin singles upon request. Bedroom 2 contains a queen size bed. Detached from the house is a bungalow which also contains a queen size bed and has its own sitting area and toilet.
