Hayton is a perfect location to explore the Amazing Lake District and Hadrians Wall in Haltwhistle is close by. The North Pennines an area of "Outstanding Natural Beauty" is a mere 10miles away from Hayton. So much to explore locally, beautiful walks and countryside on your doorstep.

We are dog friendly! We are also child friendly! Ghyllie Cottage is a two bedroom, two bathroom cottage that is over 200 years old! Wetheral is just 3 miles from junction 42 on the M6 and the village has great amenities including a Village Shop and post office, Cafe, and a great pub just across the road! Wetheral Railway Station is a short walk from the cottage with regular trains to Carlisle and Newcastle. Easy access to Gretna Green, the Lake District, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Gatesgarth is a 2 bedroomed traditional English cottage with self contained bathroom, kitchen & lounge, part of a 16th Century Inn, all overlooking the Eden Valley. Our kitchen has a log burner so you can unwind in a cozy atmosphere. This cottage has a private entrance and each room has a beautiful aspect overlooking the countryside. And you could choose to dine in our restaurant. Please check opening times as we do not open every day. Booking is also advisable.

Set in the village of Cumwhinton amongst the rolling hills of The Eden Valley it is just three miles from the historic city of Carlisle. The ideal base for exploring The Lake District, UNESCO World Heritage Site: Hadrian's Wall, The Solway Coast and the Scottish Borders. The cottage sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms and has an additional sofa bed suitable for 2 children.

2 Graham Cottage, Talkin, Brampton, North Pennines

Talkin village is a lovely location with a great pub. Our cottage is the perfect base to explore Hadrian's wall, the Lake District, Carlisle and the Pennines. We are lucky enough to have the Beautiful Talkin tarn just on our doorstep. The cottage was formerly the village postoffice, it has been fully renovated to high standard and is the perfect place to relax in front of the log burner after a day exploring the local area.

The Gincase at Castle Hill

The Gincase at Castle Hill , Hayton offers comfortable and attractive accommodation for families of up to 8 people in a peaceful rural setting. This is a grade 2 listed sandstone dwelling characterised by it’s old beams and formerly a farm building dating back to 1830 . Situated in the pretty Cumbrian village of Hayton , near to the small market town of Brampton, it makes an ideal base for exploring North Cumbria .
