Atelier was inspired by painting holidays in France. It is a spacious studio at Hylands providing a base for escape, rest and adventure. It is cosy with a wood burner, uses high quality materials throughout, curated with love and care. Surrounded by beautiful gardens to explore, where you can dine al fresco or just sit and watch the wildlife and the ever changing views. It is 12 minutes walk to Kendal's many independent shops and restaurants, and 5 minutes to our local pub, the 'Riflemans Arms'.

The Chicken Shed at Knowle Top was newly built in 2019 on the ruins of an old barn and decorated to the highest standards of industrial chic. Pretty cottage, quiet location in view of the River Kent. All amenities walking distance with regular access to the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales. Kendal Castle minutes away, a nearby hotel offers pool and gym. Kendal hosts Brewery Arts Centre, one of leading arts centres in the UK. Parking is in front of the house. Welcoming guests from all nationalities, faiths and backgrounds, sadly no pets in the cottage. Children welcome with books/games/ toys adapted to age.

Our property is only a short walk to Oxenholme train station which gives easy access to the Lake District National Park. Guests will have use of their own private space in the garden and are able to go on local walks over The Helm or to the local pub. Our accommodation is a perfect base for exploring the historic town of Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale and the rest of the Dales too.
