Tower Lodge

The Tower lodge is a distinctive Victorian gate house, situated just off a quiet rural road beside the sea at the driveway entrance to Auchencairn House. The property is constructed over four storeys, each accessed by a steep wooden spiral staircase (NB: the kitchen being on the ground floor and the bathroom on the fourth floor). The house has many lovely and original features which we believe make it a unique place to stay. The kitchen is cosy and comfortably sits four people round a pine table, and on summer mornings the door opens out into the courtyard garden so that the sun can stream in and the proximity of the sea and its sounds, provides that extraordinarily relaxing feeling tinged with excitement, which only the sea can bring. The garden is also pet proof, so your dog can wander in and out quite safely. The wood burner in the sitting room makes a perfect focal point for putting your feet up to warm and reliving the days activities. The main bedroom has a view which is second to none out across the Solway Firth, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of a king size four poster bed. The opportunities for foraging and eating incredible locally grown food abound, and if you would like to either pick and choose your own vegetables and fruit, or would like a veg basket to be left in the tower for your arrival, please do just let us know. The fruit and vegetables are all grown in the walled garden, which is looked after by Sue Gilroy, and boasts a huge range of produce. Should you decide to come up and have a look around the walled garden, you will probably come across some friendly chickens who scratch around the stable yard and the lawn, and whose eggs are also available should you like some. As regards foraging from the sea, please let us know if you would like to do some sea fishing as there are local guides with excellent knowledge who would be willing to take you. There is also fishing on local Loch's and rivers if you would prefer. The Tower is the perfect starting point for all the lovely walks that the area has to offer, and while many of these are hills (Screel, Bengairn) or the Cliffs (The Heughs) or woodlands, (Dalbeattie Forest, Galloway Forest Park, The Doach Wood) if you would like to venture across the bay and explore the beaches which you can see on the other side (Red Haven), then please do contact us to ask for tide times and what the best route would be. For cyclists, there are numerous mountain bike trails in the area, but also, for those who prefer a less extreme experience, there are lovely quiet roads throughout the area which take you through beautiful countryside.

The Sea Cubby is a unique wee holiday lodge overlooking the Solway Firth. It is perched just above the waves with the most beautiful views across Portling Bay to the white sands of Merse Head nature reserve. The Lodge is not in a holiday park it stands alone with it's own private driveway, parking and garden. It’s so quiet, a retreat to escape and relax, by sitting watching and listening to the waves. The Lodge has a large glass roofed deck. Well behaved dogs are considered, please ask first.

Situated right on Lake Windermere, our lodge is a wonderful place to unwind and relax while watching the magnificent views of the hills and fells across the lake. Water lovers are in a perfect place, to access the lake at the bottom of the stairs leading from the decking. Nature lovers can enjoy watching the many birds and wildlife pass by. Located on White Cross Bay, the lodge is in a fantastic place to explore the Lake District and it's only £3.00 by bus to anywhere in The Lakes.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The Granary is in a rural location within the national park, near a quiet beach 2 miles from Bootle village. The Granary is attached to an old threshing barn and to the farmhouse at Little Annaside. The accommodation has been converted retaining original beams and features. There is an en suit bedroom with a double bed and stunning views of the Irish Sea and Lakeland fells. A staircase leads to kitchen/dining area and a sitting room.

It has a dog friendly beach, is great for fishing, has lots of wildlife and has the most stunning sunsets. In winter, enjoy cosy evenings with the fire lit. An ideal base for exploring the Western Lake District and Cumbrian Coast. It is surrounded by scenic walks and activities. It is close to St Bees coast to coast walk too. Please note- We no longer have a hot tub.

Combe-n-Sea

A modern, open airy space set in a fabulous coastal location within easy driving distance from the Lakes. Haverigg is on the fringe of the Lakes, with Coniston being just a short drive away (approx 35 minutes). The property is close to Hodbarrow which is an RSPB Nature Reserve and it is also on the coast with some stunning dog friendly beaches to walk along. You can walk Black Combe and be rewarded with stunning views, or try wakeboarding, sea fishing or go horse riding on the beach.

Fantastic location for the Western Lakes and Fells, this property is situated on the West Coast of Cumbria in the small, friendly village of Seascale. Only a 1 minute walk to the picturesque sea front with a quiet, vast sandy beach, ideal for walks with all of the family, building sand castles and eating ice cream. Seascale train station is a short walk which provides the opportunities to explore the local area including the La'al Ratty, Ravenglass, Muncaster Castle and much more.
