Dartmoor Prison was built by Napoleonic Prisoners as their own jail and then it housed American War of Independence prisoners of war. This museum takes you through the fascinating history of the prison.

Popular garden which is ideal for a visit if you are popping down to Yelverton for the shops. It is not attached to a stately home but has many good ideas you can take home. Many guests have enjoyed visiting here.

At present the advice is to walk around the wood. you can look in at the woodland, which covers about nine acres (3.5 hectares), and is thought to be the remnants of a forest dating back thousands of years.

The only Church dedicated to St.Raphael in this country. Quiet space ideal for reflection. It was also used as a school for children of farming and mining families in the area. Early spring sees a famous mass of snowdrops in the area around the chapel. Now has free Wi-Fi.

This is our local market town which has 3 supermarkets with parking on the outskirts. However it is well worth visiting the town for the independent shops, including greengrocer and butcher, and pannier market with different stalls every day. There are plenty of cafes and pubs if you want a bite to eat.

Best pasties and scotch eggs but get there early as they sell out fast. Scotch eggs made Tuesdays, not normally any left by weekend!
