The 'Red Arrow' is a track well worn by Cairns locals. Next to the Cairns Botanical Gardens, the red arrow track is a 1.3 km circuit walk that traverses predominately rainforest vegetation with patches of eucalyptus, grasslands, and tall bamboo. At the top are spectacular views of Trinity Inlet, the Coral Sea and Cairns City.
Longer tracks on Mt Whitfield include the 'Blue', 'Green' and 'Yellow' arrow walks.
