Very close to us, about a 10 min drive. Park your car and enjoy about a 20min stroll/hike to the chutes. Pack a picnic and enjoy the afternoon there. Nice swimming too :)

Typically a must do in Bancroft. A lovely scenic lookout over the whole town, looking over the river too. Fall is a nice time to check it out with all the colours but it's pretty cool anytime of year.

We personally have not been yet (shameful) but many people love it and recommend it as this is the mineral/gem capital of Canada!

A landmark around here and truly not to be missed if you've traveled from far. It's only about 45min drive from us. A nice day trip. There are plenty of hiking trails that loop around for a variety of lengths ranging from about 45min to 4hrs or longer probably. Some old growth trees that are stunning.

Food scene
Super cute Cafe in town with art work around and few artisan crafts to sell. Best coffee in town as their the only ones with an expresso machine(!!!) 😋😋

There's the Granite too but we personally prefer this pub. Great fish and chips and burgers. They also have a micro brewery :) Nice stop for lunch to fill your belly before the long drive home.

Another cute Cafe. Drip coffee but great selection of baked goods!! Serves lunch too. Right at Riverside Park with a playground, lots of shade and by the river. Great place for a family drop by.

Support the local Mennonite community and pick up some local fruits, veggies, baked goods, and preserves. Grab some corn, when in season to bring back to your camp or glamp site to do a corn roast on the fire :)

If you're staying for longer then 2 nights and want to try another beach area further away from us with a nice scenic drive down Boulter Road then check out the beach at Foster's Lake. Sandy and shallow for a while so it's great for kids.

The Saturday Farmer's Market is a must!
Every Saturday from 9am-1pm at Riverside Park (behind the post office in town).
Grab a coffee, baked good, some produce and a nice memento by a local artist to take home as a souvenir. Different local musician typically performs every week.
I'm also a co-manager for the Market so if you have any specific questions then please let me know!
Market typically runs between May long weekend to Thanksgiving.
