This is Austin's prize, and one of the reasons I live here. Swimming in this spring fed pool will rejuvenate your entire being. Located in Zilker Park. Please don't bring food in, as it will attract ants. I recommend parking on the Robert E. Lee side. Especially magical at night.

Central Market is about FOOD. This is where I do my grocery shopping because they have the best produce, and really everything else you need to make a great meal. Every section is a feast. Good cafe as well, with live music Thursdays through Sundays evenings.

Bats!!! Every evening the bats fly out from under the bridge to eat lots of bugs. Super neat to see on the water by kayak! One of the largest bat colonies in Texas.

Summer months on the first Friday of a full moon, they sponsor a Latino Serenade on the water. Imagine a live latino band on a motored raft, the sunset, a full moon, the Austin skyline and you on the water in your kayak. Nothin' better.
