  • June is the perfect host..So polite and courteous. The room is outstanding value for money and the amenities excellent. Honestly..I couldn't ask for more!!

  • June was a fantastic host, very quick at replying right from the start, very accommodating and friendly. We stayed for one night after attending a wedding at Burley Manor and the room was everything we needed, we also really appreciated the lovely breakfast.

  • Lovely and accommodating host with cuddly cats. Nice and relaxing place.

    Emma2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet area ,central location to the beaches, New Forest and Poole and Bournemouth

    Roger2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house smells of cats but the bedroom is wonderfully clean and fresh. The bed was very comfy. I did not remember to read the house rules about the cats entering the room so the host wasnt best pleased and said that some people are allergic to cats and i shouldnt let them in. However there was also a soiled cat litter tray in the bathroom so this didnt make sense really. quiet area.

  • My second visit and looking forward to many more.

  • I had a wonderful 2-day stay in this impressive, clean welcoming property with private parking and a lovely courtyard garden. Helen offers as much company or privacy as you desire and is always around if needed . The bathroom is large and spotless. A special mention for the home cooked full English breakfast which was the best I’ve had in a long time!! , I also had an evening meal cooked by Helen which was also excellent. Needless to say I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this little gem and will definitely stay again if I’m visiting the area.Marc.

  • Helen was very accommodating, really quick to communicate and has a lovely, clean place to stay. She even got up early to make sure I headed out for an early start with breakfast!

  • Helen is an incredibly accommodating host, with a beautiful home. Helen went above and beyond any expectations as a host. the room was lovely, with lovely little touches, such as an eye mask for sleeping, tea and coffee in the room and and extra blankets on the bed, speaking of which, I had the most amazing night sleep and everything was spotlessly clean. Without a doubt i would recommend staying with this wonderful host, i will definitely be returning

Double en-suite room in a cul-de-sac with a rural outlook. Deers can often be seen in the field if you are an early bird. The house is 3 minutes level walk to Ringwood Town Centre, Ringwood Parish Church and Doulos Training as well as all the shops, bars and restaurants that it has to offer. There is an easy access to public transport from the town centre. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and anyone with a kid.
The double room is on the ground floor of a country cottage that has been recently renovated. The bedroom is clean and good size, situated off the living room. It is cosy with comfy upmarket (Willow & Hall, see photos) sofa bed, large wardrobe & desk. The room has its own en-suite bathroom with an electric shower, small sink and toilet to ensure that you have privacy and can feel at home while being away from home. Please note, that since the shower is electric the pressure is lower then you would expect to have with the power shower. If travelling with a child, please remember that there is only one double sofa-bed in the room. Fresh linen is supplied. A mattress topper is also provided. There is a kettle and a selection of tea and coffee in the room. Please note that there is a friendly cat that lives at the property. This is a smoke free home.
Ringwood is a market town. The property is located in a cul-de-sac of five houses positioned between two rivers. It is a quiet and safe neighbourhood. There is the local pub (The Fish Inn) within 3 min walk from the property. Despite its close proximity to the dual carriageway it is very popular and loved by locals. There are also numerous other bars and pubs in Ringwood town and in The New Forest.
  • I stayed at Yulia's place while attending a 4-day training course at Doulos. The training centre was less than a 5 minute walk away and there were plenty of eating options nearby too. Yulia was an excellent host. She would respond very quickly to my questions, and was kind enough to be flexible with the booking to match my needs. I'll likely be back at Doulos for more training in the future, and will be hoping that Yulia's place is available!

    Iain2018-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Yulia is a lovely young lady that makes you feel so welcome to stay in her beautiful home. The bedroom with en suite that I had was spacious and lovely and very clean. The bed was also comfortable. It is in a nice area and close enough to walk to the shops. I ate at the pub just across the bridge The Fish Inn. Food was lovely and staff were friendly. Would definitely stay here again

    Carol2018-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Homely, clean, tidy. Great location, great host. Highly recommend.

    Bill2019-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing home, awesome hospitality, virtually had the place to myself for most of my stay. Yulia and her daughter made me feel at home and are great hosts, thanks again and will for sure see you again soon!

    Mark2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Yulia is a charming Lady and runs a neat house which is ideally situated. The New Forest is close, as are the the beaches of the South Coast.

    Kim & Frances2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • This home was exactly as advertised: clean, bright, and comfortable, with plenty of hanging space for my clothes, and a selection of teas and coffee. Yulia was considerate and thoughtful, breakfast was laid out for me in the mornings. It is centrally located for Ringwood and the bus stop on a pretty lane with swans in the stream and deer on the lawn! Excellent value for money, and I would love to go back.

    Hazel2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Yulia has a lovely house and is super friendly. She gave me my key on arrival and gave lots of great suggestions of things to do in the New Forest. The room she lets is large, en suite, with a large desk and a comfortable bed.

    Pete2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Yulia has a lovely home and a very friendly cat. The location is ideal for anyone visiting the New Forest.

  • The Lodge @200 was a perfect bank holiday weekend away. Amanda and Mark were both lovely hosts, they both will help you in any way to make your stay feel welcomed. A nice private garden behind the lodge. Also get a breakfast hamper which is a lovely touch. Plenty things to do around ring wood, even visit Christchurch, the new forest and not far from Bournemouth. Literally a perfect 10/10 for our stay, would happily stay here again. Thank you Amanda and Mark once again for our lovely stay.

    Matthew2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda was very helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcome in the Lodge! The accommodation was clean and nicely decorated, and the breakfast basket was delicious!

    Jon2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Lodge @200 is a great little place for a short break. Amanda has managed to provide everything you need and more. The breakfast basket was more than enough for our 2 days. The location is easily accessed from the main A31 but still lovely and quiet. We could hear birdsong each morning. The town centre is about a mile away and the walk is level. Plenty of places for dinner.

    Bridget 2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived in Ringwood to one very smiley and welcoming Amanda ! From the word go nothing was too much trouble, she even accomodated us a space for our bikes as we were down for the sportive even. The loge itself was beautifully clean and comforatble, well kitted out for a weekend away, and located in a very well kept garden. It was far enough away from the house that it still felt nice n private, and having the added space with he wood burner at the back gave you another little retreat in the evenings. If you're a young couple like ourselves looking for a nice retreat for the weekend, then i would thoroughly recommend this place. It's well located with just a 2 minute walk to the co-op shop, and only ten minute walk into the center of Ringwood, which has some really great places to eat out, and has good lively bars in the evening. Would definitely recommend the Noisey Lobster for some lush seafood ! And for getting further afield Amanda was ver y knowledgeable about the New Forest and provided a plethora of maps and cycle tracks etc to keep you going. Thanks again for a lovely weekend. Jim and Emily x

Luxury self-contained shepherds hut nestled in the heart of the New Forest National Park. The perfect glamping experience for lovers of the outdoors who prefer some warm home comforts. Fully insulated and heated. South facing with stunning views, surrounded by wildlife and the open New Forest on the doorstep. Great pub 20 min walk and award winning farm shop and 2 cafes 10 min walk. Quick and easy access to explore the many villages, towns, cities and beaches that the area has to offer. No pets.
*Saturday 9th November is available as a check in day so please contact me if you would like to book it. *Discounts automatically apply to stays of 3 nights or more and increases the more nights that are booked with 10% off weekly bookings (7 nights). *No extra cleaning fee charged. Situated on the north/west side of the New Forest National Park, a very short drive from the historic market towns of Fordingbridge and Ringwood, ‘Maurietty’ offers an idyllic place to relax and unwind. Located away from roads and a short way along a forest track, it is set on the edge of our 3 ½ acre grounds approximately 100 metres from our house (which is out of view). Stunning south facing views across our paddocks and countryside beyond. However you are not isolated here - there is quick and easy access to all main roads for visitors to explore the many villages, towns, cities and beaches that Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire have to offer (if you can tear yourself away from your little retreat!). There is a footpath at the back of our house which goes along the edge of our paddocks which is the best route to take to Hockeys Farm Shop and cafe, and The Royal Oak Pub is a 20 minute walk away (left out of our gates to bottom of track and turn right). There is another café 'The Potting Shed' in Hyde which is approx. a 15/20 minute walk across the common (left out of our gates, up track a short way and take first right at 'Gorley Firs' which will take you up onto the common). This shepherd's hut offers character and comfort in spades. The little bijou beauty is like a tardis offering a warm and cosy retreat. Inside the fully insulated bespoke hut you'll find all the comforts you would expect from luxury self-catering accommodation. A bathroom with 800x800 shower, wc, wash basin and electric ladder radiator. A kitchenette with belfast sink, microwave, cafetiere, kettle, toaster, electric cooking/frying pan, small chiller fridge, all cutlery and crockery and electric radiator. The 4'6" double bed is built in across one end of the hut with storage underneath, a window and tv with built in freesat and dvd player for those british rainy days when you might want to tuck up and get cosy and watch a film. South facing double french doors flood the hut with sunshine on brighter days and provide a beautiful view out across open fields. Outside there is a designated parking space right next to the hut and an outdoor seating area looking out at the view. Access to the property is via an electric gated entrance for which you will be provided with a code. The site once formed part of Ibsley RAF base during World War II. The block of stables that you look out onto is the old latrine block and a couple of Stanton air raid shelters are in the paddock. Literally to the rear of the hut is the open New Forest. Horse riders frequently go by as well as wildlife such as the New Forest ponies, cattle, donkeys, deer, foxes, badgers and an abundance of birds such as buzzards which are often seen circling above the trees during the summer months. Award- winning farm shop and cafe that also offers bike hire 0.5 mile (follow the footpath that starts at the back corner of our property), horse riding 1 mile, watersports and fishing lakes 2 miles, thatched pub with restaurant 1 mile (15/20 minute walk). Ringwood (with a Waitrose, Lidl and Sainsbury's) 5 miles and Fordingbridge (with a Co-op and Tesco Express) 2.5 miles. ****If the dates you would like to book won't fit into the booking calendar then please send me a booking request and I will try to accommodate you. ****Please note that WiFi can be unreliable due to our countryside location despite the area recently having fibre optic broadband installed! It’s something we’ve learnt to live with. We can always pick up 3G or 4G.
The New Forest is a former royal hunting ground in the south of England. It was created in 1079 by William I. Nearly 1000 years later the ancient landscape remains almost unchanged and in March 2005 was designated the 8th National Park in England.
  • Amazing property in a rural paradise. Jo and Carl were kind and attentive, both before and during the stay. Immaculately clean, attention to detail and one of, if not the best, Airbnb property in which either of us have stayed. Huge thanks to Jo and Carl for everything.

  • Lovely setting, easy to access and Maurietty is just beautiful. Well laid out great use of space, lovely washroom/shower room. Bed super comfy. We stayed whilst it was in the high twenties so it was very hot during the day but luckily it cooled down enough through the night to be comfortable. Jo is a great host and most information sent to you on booking and there is a great info pack to flick through on arrival with suggestions for restaurants etc. Beautiful area of the U.K. and if you haven’t visited before make sure you book with Jo! Will definitely return soon! Thanks again Stephen & Hayley

  • Wonderful shepherds hut, set in a beautiful place and provides a great base for exploring the New Forest. Host is fantastic at replying and provides everything you could need. The hut is on the driveway so the cars on the stones can be quite noisy early in the morning/late at night, but we had a great stay and would return/easily recommend to others! Thank you Jo!

    Rachel2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Hut is based in a little pocket of Paradise in Gorley wood. Central all one could wish for in and around the New Forest area. Be it walking and exploring the forest from the hut, or driving to local towns and villages. The Hut itself is equipped with all the basic amenities. If visiting through the warmer months additional refrigeration may be required. Whilst staying in The Hut we experienced ALL weather conditions with a hefty storm coming through one of the evenings. I have to say The Hut was warm and cosy and certainly highlighted the Fact that The Hut can sustain and accommodate one through ALL WEATHER conditions. The vista from The Hut is a visual treat with the whole environment offering one peace and tranquility. Thanks again to Jo and Carl for the opportunity in allowing us to share time in your neck of the woods. Highly recommended no matter the weather ❤️.

It is quiet, equipped with tea and coffee and with an extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean and the shower is good and strong. The location is convenient for both Bournemouth and also for the New Forest. All in all, a good room, at a good rate with lovely hosts.

    Richard2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquil, quiet room overlooking the garden. Really great hospitality and attention to detail. Lots of breakfast choice.

    Linda2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at Esthers house. Esther and Alan were great hosts. The bed was very comfortable and I slept amazingly in the tranquil garden room. The breakfast choice was over generous and I felt much at home there. 😊

    Sarah2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Esther and Alan are lovely people. The place was a delight. The breakfast was laid out for us and we were offered cake and biscuits too. I look forward to returning and enjoying their company.

  • We have a really lovely stay at Esther’s. She was not there when we stayed but left us a beautiful card and her Dad was really welcoming. The room is gorgeous and the breakfast options are delicious and endless! Wish we had more time!

    Ellie2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you very much Ester. We were very happy to have met you and your father. He's an excellent host. I enjoyed your home, the location, the kindness and everything of you. Next time I will definitely come back to you.

  • Great stay.....spacious room and private bathroom. We had the use of the kitchen and living room and even the garden. Alan even brought us a cup of tea and biscuits in the garden. So kind but also very discreet. We would definitely return.

Little Glen is a detached private annexe set in the eaves, situated within the grounds of the owners property, along the boundary of a private track in the village of Alderholt. The annexe comfortably sleeps two adults and can easily accommodate a child/teenager on a sofa-bed. A continental breakfast is provided for your first night. A great place for exploring The New Forest and the coast...
The annexe has plenty of standing headroom, an open plan living room incorporating a kitchenette – single oven /hob /microwave /fridge /freezer box /kettle /toaster/ crockery and a small dining area. There is a pull out sofa bed within the lounge area (which would be suitable for 1 child/teenager). If you require the sofa bed to be set up you must inform us prior to your arrival. A 32” television with free wifi access to the usual channels, BBC IPlayer, Now TV Off the lounge area is a very comfortable bedroom with king size bed, all bedding is hypo-allergenic and Egyptian cotton. There is an adjoining en-suite shower room with enclosed shower – towels are provided for guests. In the entrance hallway there is a cupboard housing a washing machine / dryer and hanging wardrobe space. Outside you have your own private parking area just off off the track and a small private garden with patio furniture and your own front door to come and go as you please.... A continental breakfast will be provided for your first night - any food allergies please let me know prior to your arrival... Alderholt is a village in the East Dorset district, but, is situated very near the Hampshire border. There is a pub within 2 minutes walk and a small convenience store for the essentials. The towns of Fordingbridge, Ringwood and Wimborne are not far away. There are many lovely walks nearby and we are located within close proximity to The New Forest. Slightly further a field (25 minutes) you have Bournemouth town and beaches and the cathedral city of Salisbury. A perfect base for exploring a lovely area.... Please note : In reference to small children/infants - this property has a staircase up to the first floor and a stair guard is provided, but, fitting this is the responsibility of parents/guardians. We are happy for infants to stay, but, you would need to provide a travel cot / bedding for them . They would need to be supervised at all times outside.
  • I stayed here for a weekend and really enjoyed my stay. The annexe is spotless and very comfortable. The check-in is easy and quick. The location is close to all places in the New Forest via car.

    Frazer2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolute little gem. The accommodation is excellent and the facilities (shower, kitchen, beds, sofa) are top notch. There are so many little touches like tea, coffee machine, hair dryer and loads more, that make your stay a real pleasure. Our host left plenty of breakfast goods and little treats like biscuits that we really enjoyed. We intend to go back. Above and beyond was the device chargers 😀

    Mark2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful annexe, fully equipped with everything you need for a short trip away. The annexe is a real treat set in gorgeous surroundings. Perfect for beach trips, local parks & a home away from home.

  • Beautiful home. Karen wasn’t in when we stayed. Our dog loved the garden and the location was fab someone was in but didn’t answer door we kind of felt a bit like intruders but this isn’t a reflection on host at all just never walked into someone’s home when they’ve not been there before.

  • Un sitio estupendo para descansar! Muy Bonito, limpio y comodo! Karen es una anfitriona genial.

  • Excellent location, clean and comfortable room, good value, highly recommended!

    Lajos2018-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s house is spotlessly clean, in a very quiet area. Lovely bedroom with ample storage and a double bed with very firm mattress, flat screen tv ( unfortunately I couldn’t fathom how to get it to work but it does work, it was my error) I had my own toilet and a shared bathroom with a good shower and extremely clean everywhere. Karen very kindly made some space for me to use the fridge and I could help myself to tea and coffee whenever I liked. I used Karen’s Beautiful home whilst commuting for work so left early and returned late so literally just needed somewhere to lay my head so I can’t comment on any transport links or things to do in the area, although my drive to Salisbury and Winchester was stunning, it’s a really beautiful area Thank you Karen for my stay x

    Kate2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was a lovely host, she even puppy sat for me while I went to the Solciste! Lovely place! Thanks again will definitely recommend Karen!

    Reena2017-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A modern house. A super friendly dog. Great location (only a few minutes walk from the New Forest). On the minus side, I didn't get to meet any family member, but I did speak to Karen over the phone about the internet connection. She send me a text message very speedily and the issue had a satisfactory outcome.

    Lae2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was very welcoming and I was able to make myself at home. Her house is immaculate and it was nice and quiet.

Our cosy shepherds hut is situated in a small wood overlooking our paddock in the heart of the New Forest. Situated near the market town of Fordingbridge "Harry's Hut" is in the perfect setting for you to enjoy hiking around The Forest, exploring ancient woodland and visit many of the delightful pubs nearby. The cathedral city of Salisbury is 10 miles to the north and the beautiful Dorset coastline 15 miles to the south.
Harry's hut is beautifully built to a very high standard to include all our guests needs for a truly comfortable and cosy stay. It has a 4'6" double bed, mini kitchen with Belfast sink, double hob, kettle, toaster and small fridge. There is an en suite with shower, toilet and central heating. The hut is totally secluded and peaceful with comfortable outdoor seating and eating area, large fire pit, hammock and portable BBQ. Harrys Hut is situated within a 1/4 acre of woodland overlooking our paddock all for you to enjoy. You will find a radio for your entertainment, board games, books and playing cards. We have usb sockets for you to charge phones iPads etc but be aware we do NOT have any WiFi (for those desperate we have a Wifi you can connect to temporarily up at the house a few minutes walk away). We do however have pretty good mobile signal with 3 and 4G!
Harrys Hut is uniquely in one of the most beautiful corners of the New Forest for you to explore. Ancient woodlands, winding streams and wild heathlands are on your doorstep. New Forest ponies, wild deer and donkeys roam the lane. Hockeys Farm is our local farm shop 1 mile down the lane and sells a wide range of local produce. Several pubs are within walking distance including The Foresters, The Royal Oak at Gorley and The George at Fordingbridge and the Three Lions restaurant . Many such as The Royal Oak at Fritham and The High Corner Inn make a good days walk or cycle ride. We have two riding stables within a mile of Harry's Hut where you can organise a hack round the forest. Breamore Estate with its museum, country house and Saxon Church is 5 miles to the north. Further to the north lies the beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury . To the south lies the Dorset coastline with Christchurch and Hengistbury Head .
  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Ellen's Shepherd's hut. For such a small space, there is so much thought and love put into it. Ellen is a great host and responds very quickly to any needs you may have. Provided with the hut are bikes, fire pit with wood and a ping pong table, which we utilised. We would recommend for anyone to stay here, makes the perfect remote getaway!

    Jack2019-06-06T00:00:00Z

  • I had the best time at Suzanne's place. Really gorgeous room, great big mirror, lovely furniture and a really comfy bed. It was especially beautiful to sit out in the garden having a drink in the evening sun. There is an lovely local pub called The London Tavern which has incredible food a short walk from the house. Sydney the pug is adorable and gives great pug cuddles if you want them! Suzanne is so friendly and welcoming and I would definitely stay again! Thanks for a great stay :)

    Laura2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Suzanne is a lovely host who makes sure you are well looked after. Sydney is a great co-host who will also make sure you are well licked (given half a chance!)

    Keith2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Suzanne is a very friendly host. Her home is spotlessly clean. Happy to have a chat and advise on the area! A great experience!

    Mark2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect stopover for a couple to explore the area. Suzanne gave us good advice, her home is modern and comfortable and has a lovely warm conservatory. Sydney, the pug is very sweet. We can recommend it.

    Steve2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really clean and nicely presented house. Garden was nice and tidy so very easy to let the dog out for a quick wee. We spent a while chatting with Suzanne but the house is split so as guests we largely had the run of the ground floor with the host upstairs so it’s easy to be as social or independent as you’d like.

    Marcus2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Suzanne was a great host for my Mother in law . Great location and beautiful and clean house . The Dog is very friendly and cute .

    Wade2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Suzanne’s place is superbly situated for the New Forest and 1 minute away from main routes to Bournemouth and Christchurch. Local county pubs a short walk. we recommend The Elm Tree for food, especially the Sunday Roast. Also the London Tavern for live music and a warm welcome (including 🐕) Ringwood is about 15 minutes walk with an array of shops. So something for everyone. Suzanne’s actual home is beautiful. Everything you need for just one night or 1 months stay. Dogs 🐕 are extremely welcome and catered for. She is an exception host and nothing is too much for her. To close it’s better than most of the 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in. Massive thank you to Suzanne and Sydney who made us very welcome 🐕😎☀️🤸‍♀️

Beautifully equipped 2 double bedroom flat it's a perfect base for a weekend of shopping, eating out, exploring the New Forest and the local beaches. There is a flat screen TV and Blu-Ray player with plenty of Blu-Ray movies to watch and excellent WiFi, which you are welcome to use. There is also a dining table with space for 4, perfect for enjoying a home cooked brunch or dinner. Opposite the lounge is the kitchen, which has everything you'll need to cook: 4-ring hob, oven, integrated dishwasher, integrated fridge / freezer, integrated washing machine plus toaster and kettle. There’s also plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, saucepans and cooking utensils. To the right from the front door there are 2 double bedrooms, which have king size beds with fresh bed linen and towels. There is also storage and hanging space for your belongings. If required, we can provide a travel cot for our youngest guests. Next to the bedrooms is the bathroom, which comes with corner shower cubicle, wash hand basin with storage below as well as a heated towel rail and WC. We also provide shampoo and soap, in case you forget to pack it in your suitcase. There is a private garden with raised decking area and parking space for 1 car. Dogs welcome. Please mention at the time of your booking if you are bringing your dog with you, and we will provide some extra towels for those muddy paws. It’s the perfect break all year around; fantastic sunny days in the Summer and fabulous blustery days in the Winter - all with amazing views and great opportunities for healthy exploration.
Ringwood sits between two forests: Ringwood Forest with its wealth of pine trees and cycle paths includes Moors Valley Country Park, and the New Forest National Park, which offers thousands of acres of moor, heath and woodlands where ponies, donkeys and cattle roam free. You may also see wild deer, foxes, badger, rabbits and a wide variety of birds. Both forests are fantastic for exploring whether on foot, bike or horse. Ringwood offers: - A comprehensive range of shops both independently owned and national chains such as Phase Eight, Jaeger, Fat Face, Clarkes, W.H. Smith, Paperchase etc. - A wealth of cafeterias and restaurants including Italian, Thai, Tapas and Indian; mainly independents but with a few chains such as Caffè Nero, Subway and Prezzo. - Local pubs within walking distance and they offer a range of local ales. - Three supermarkets: Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Iceland plus few local shops - Coarse fishing on the River Avon; day tickets can be purchased from the tackle shops in West Street. - Mountain bike off road trails in both forests and BMX obstacle course at Moors Valley. - Spinnaker Sailing Club and New Forest Water Park within a few minutes' drive. - Riding schools nearby offering hacks across the New Forest for both the beginner and the more experienced rider. - 12 miles from Bournemouth and its award winning beaches and lively nightlife. - 15 miles from Salisbury where you will find Stonehenge and the tallest Cathedral Spire in England. - Half a dozen golf courses within a 10/15 minute drive. - Two theme parks within 15 minutes drive: Paulton's Park and Adventure Wonderland. - 30 mins drive from Poole and Sandbanks. In terms of walks I could recommend a few places: * Rockford Common just by the Moyles Court School - 5 mins drive from the apartment, very popular with walkers and dogs, vast open space and if you follow the path all the way down after about 35-45 mins you could reach The Red Shoot Inn pub. Further up the road there is The High Corner Inn pub where you can often find horses in their beer garden but that's probably a bit too far to walk from Rockford Common to be fair. Alternatively there is The Alice Lisle pub on your right on your way back to the apartment with a lovely lake setting; * Another popular place is Picket Post and Vereley just off A31, about 10 mins drive from the apartment, both favourites with my dogs and me. On a sunny day you could see for miles and I've seen loads of deer in Vereley too. If you follow the road down from Picket Post you will end up in Burley and that's a lovely place for cream teas. The village is famous for witchcraft. Both the White Buck and the Queen's Head are great pubs too, White Buck particularly when the fire is on. The White Buck gets booked up really quickly, so making a reservation ahead would be recommended. * Couple of miles up from Burley you could stop at the Wilverley Inclosure - the path goes in a circle and the walk is approx. 1h right through the forest. And it's so quiet too. Couple of miles from Wilverley on the left there is Horseshoe Bottom walk - another big open space with lovely views. And from there it's just a short drive to Brockenhurst and the Huntsman of Brockenhurst pub - very popular with tourists and locals. For a lovely evening dinner I could recommend the Pig in Brockenhurst. * Finally one of the best places to see the old forest is probably the Deer Sanctuary in Bolderwood however that's 20-25 mins drive from the apartment. There is a viewing platform from where you could watch herd of deer, there is a lovely walk to explore the forest and the Bolderwood Arboretum Ornamental Drive road is as much the New Forest drive as you can get - it's full of bends and turns but it's worth the drive. And up from there just off A35 there is The Oak Inn pub in Bank or the Fox and Hound in Lyndhurst.
  • Really enjoyed our stay here. Good location for our needs and the apartment was in great condition and very clean. Sam also ensured that the apartment was well setup for our young son which was much appreciated and made things much easier for us.

  • A great place for a holiday with two very comfortable double beds! The property is in great condition and has some lovely features that were presumably put in by the owners when they were living there. The communication and instructions for arrival were very clear and I still found Sam to be patient and a delight to talk too

  • Spotless, charming flat. Everything you need.

  • When we arrived, we were amazed at how big it was, the pictures certainly don’t do it justice. It was spotless, not a piece of dirt in sight. It had everything we could have wanted, including plates, glasses and even some cooking essentials.

  • Had a great time staying at a very nice flat. Sam was very helpful about the local area and would definately recommend his accommodation.

Own entrance, 2 bedrooms, French doors opening from lounge into lovely garden space. Free Wifi and high-speed internet. Firepit and barbecue on request. The Lodge is tucked behind main house, a Victorian end of terrace, on B road joining historic market towns of Ringwood and Christchurch. It is a great base for holidaymakers or business travelers. Ringwood, a tourist spot in its own right, is within easy traveling to the coast, beauty spots and popular towns, cities, airports and motorway.
About 40 feet behind main house, access to The Lodge is via a mid terrace driveway, through a double gate into an enclosed garden space with small yard and pathway to own entrance and additional gated and more private garden space. Fully equipped, and with an option for 5th guest to sleep in lounge, it is large enough for families and small groups, alternatively providing a bit extra for couples and individuals. A firepit and barbecue are available on request to make the most of garden life. Our location provides an ideal base for simply relaxing and rejuvenating, and/or exploring nearby: seaside towns, The New Forest National Park, World Heritage Site Jurassic Coast and lots of other tourist attractions including the cathedral city of Salisbury. Perfect too for business events, conferences and stopovers, being within easy travelling distance to Bournemouth, Salisbury and Southampton. Rivers Avon, on our doorstep, and Stour, nearby, a lovely spot for fishing groups.
Within a mile of the town centre with its bustling Wednesday market and shopping haven boasting favourite and individual stores, small shops and cafes. Less than a mile from beautiful country and riverside walks and very close to Castleman Trailway linking Ringwood and Poole
  • Perfect stay at Ringwood, really close to New Forest and other attractions very recommended for families (Moors Valley is amazing). Richard and Pippa are very good hosts, very friendly, and the welcome basket really appreciate (including bread, butter, wine, eggs, ...). The house is very comfortable, perfect for a family, two rooms, and a big garden that we enjoyed for having breakfast outdoors or playing with the kid. We really recommend this house if you want to visit this area.

    Alejandro2016-08-01T00:00:00Z

    Kim2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for my birthday for 3 nights at the garden lodge and loved it. There's plenty of places to eat in the area and some lovely pubs. Everyone was really friendly. The lodge is in a good location for exploring the area and was a perfect base for visiting Paultons Park with my 5 year old. Richard and Pippa gave us complete privacy and we loved the garden which we were able to use if we wished. My husband was particularly happy about being near the Ringwood brewery. The beds were very comfortable and the lodge had everything we needed for a short stay. We would definitely recommend this lodge to anyone.

    Tina2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Richard & Pippa contacted us before our arrival so they could plan their day around our arrival time, and swapped phone numbers in case we needed to get hold of them. Nothing is too much trouble! Richard brought round a massive gas barbecue and tools, which we used many times. The garden has a wooden climbing frame and swings for young one (our 3 year old climbed and used the slide daily) and spent hours in the garden and admiring the neighbour's chickens. The neighbours let us feed and stroke them. The lodge has high speed internet and a YouView box connected to the TV. YouView is a catch-up internet-based TV system. We brought our Roku by chance and it worked flawlessly. The internet and the brochures in the house helped us plan out days out (Moors Valley Country Park, Southbourne beaches, Hengistbury Head, crabbing in Mudeford are all a must). We also went to a Pick Your Own farm in Sopley. Things to be aware of: If you want to watch live TV it's through YouView and only provides streaming channels, not the Freeview channels. The shower is electric and works great, but don't expect a bathtub. The shower doors accommodate modest sized people. It's only a few minutes away from the centre of town by car (Sainsburys and Waitrose - park in the Waitrose car park for free). We had a fantastic stay and would glad stay there again.

    Michael2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely little retreat which is perfectly placed for exploring the New Forest or the coast. Well equipped and the garden is really private, the lodge is in Richard and Pippa's garden but it feels very separate. The garden is lovely and there is a big gas barbecue which was great for us. Richard was great, we didn't meet Pippa but are assuming she is just as great! Thank you for accommodating my daughter and son in law at the last minute, much appreciated! Richard also has a very good sense of humour! Would definitely stay again :)

    Sharon2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • 這地方好近吃、玩及市中心。戶主夫婦喜歡與人溝通,友善,彈性。值得讃賞!

    Christina2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We went to the Garden Lodge for a long weekend. The lodge itself was clean, spacious and well stocked. It was very much as described. Richard and Pippa had given some food provisions, which was a nice welcome. Ringwood is a nice market town and we managed to do some nice walks which are within close proximity to the lodge.

    Nina2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Garden Lodge was pristeen and the welcome bits in the fridge were a thoughtful addition. Pippa and Richard were very accommodating to our late arrival and instantly made us feel welcome. Ring wood was ideal for our plans and day trips with 2 young children, 1 week with great weather wasn't enough to do everything. The garden was a good size for children to have a play which was a bonus. its certainly a great deal when school holidays is otherwise a very expensive time. Happily recommend!

The Hayloft is an open plan living space with its own entrance. It is within walking distance of the historic market town of Ringwood, offering a variety of restaurants, shops and cafes. It is a great base from which to explore the New Forest National Park on foot, by bike or by car and is situated on a main bus route between the award winning beaches of Bournemouth and the city of Salisbury. The property consists of a king size bed and a single sofa bed with ensuite shower facilities.
The Hayloft is suitable for couples or a family with children but access is via an external wooden staircase so young children would need to be closely supervised and it would not be suitable for people with mobility impairments. Please note that there are no kitchen cooking facilities in the hayloft other than a toaster, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities.
The property is located in a large front garden, accessed via a quiet country lane.
  • We stopped here for a couple nights on our way to Dorset. My kids loved the tree house and trampoline, and had a lot of fun playing with their boys. It’s about 5 minutes from Moor Valley where we spent the day. Ringwood is also close with lots of shops and restaurants. The only minor issue was the sofa bed was fairly small, only suitable for small children I think. Everything else was great and I recommend this spot if you’re in the area.

    James2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t have asked for better accommodation at the Hayloft. The space was clean and spacious for myself, partner and toddler. The room had everything you needed and made it seem like a self contained apartment. Lovely touches of breakfast food, fruit, milk etc all already in the room. My son loved there was also use of the family garden with toys and loved waking up and watching the chickens run round. The location was absolutely perfect to explore the new forest and surrounding areas. We hope to definately come back again. Thank you again Kate and family for being lovely hosts

    Cara2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Hayloft is an excellent space for couples or families with young children. there is plenty of space to run around and not get in each others way. The variety of breakfast provided was excellent. It was so peaceful and wonderfully quiet at night. Would definitely go back if we were staying around there again.

  • I found Kate's place perfect for my needs: essentially just a bed for the night, Friday and Saturday, while I attended a weekend event at the nearby Ringwood Waldirf school. It gave me privacy, space, my own bathroom, tea-making facilities, there is also a fridge and microwave which are really handy! Kate had left teas, milk, cereals, soft drinks and a fruit bowl. Nice! I bought half a dozen eggs from Kate's young boys, who are managing the chickens that wander their garden. Still enjoying them :)

  • Our stay here was absolutely perfect I just wish we could have stayed longer. Evenings in hot tub was amazing looking out over the shire horses watching the sunset. Debbie and Martin were fantastic hosts and couldn’t do more for us, also great just to chat to about the area! Thanks for a lovely stay.

    Lauren2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie was a lovely host. The place is clean and very well looked after. Hot tub was lovelllllllyyyy. Lovely thoughtful touches with welcome basket and soaps and towels etc. Only issue we had was the wifi was out and signal in the area isnt great but Debbie did her best to resolve. I do hate the fact we live in a world where we need to stay connected to work but everything else was simply great - 100% stay there again.

    Martin2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely two night stay with our almost 2 year old when visiting the area for a christening. The bedroom was huge with plenty of room to accommodate our travel cot and loads of storage space. Everything was great, I just wish we had tried out the hot tub! Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.

    Rachael2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is beautiful, spacious and clean. The hot tub overlooking the paddock was such a great experience. Thanks for having us!

  • Fantastic stay. Will definitely return.

    Lucy2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot say enough good about this place. Debbie and Martin gave us a wonderfully warm welcome on arrival, we received a lovely basket of supplies including bread, delicious jam, milk and other brilliantly useful things. The cottage is just stunning!! The care and attention that has been put into converting the buildings is outstanding. Its spacious, spotless, and has lots of gorgeous little details like exposed brickwork, original beams, Butler sink, rain shower, etc. There are also more little touches, like toiletries and dressing gowns, the bed was super comfy, we slept really well. We found the location to be excellent, with shops and restaurants a literal stones throw away, and easy access to surrounding villages, it took us just about 40 minutes to drive to Monkey world. I could go on all day about how wonderful it is to be quite honest, we feel really privileged to have been able to stay here when everything is so shiny and new, huge thank you to Debbie and Martin.

    Boo2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of pros here. Good location for exploring the forest. It was very clean and the beds comfortable. The hot tub was great. May be a personal preference but we found it too hot for us and our 5 month old. There was a good fan to help with that, but the place retains quite a bit of heat. Debbie was very responsive to our messages when we encountered a couple of issues with the water and bbq. Overall, the experience was good.

Dogs are very welcome (2 dogs max) as we have a small terrier - the garden is a good size, and is dog-proof, please let us know if you are bringing your dog(s) with you. There is a small seating area outside the bedroom door, perfect for an evening drink, and double patio doors from the lounge. Breakfast included (self-prepared). Tea, coffee, free-range eggs, toast, butter marmalade and honey. NEWLY ADDED - (double) induction portable hob and saucepans/frying pan. Microwave, kettle, toaster, and egg boiler. No oven. The Avon river runs close by (including a nature reserve) and the Castleman Trailway, perfect for cyclists and walkers, follows the now disused railway line through to Poole. We have the world famous Ringwood Brewery on our doorstep, with daily tours, and shop selling their acclaimed beers. Moors Valley Country Park is an eight minute drive, and has a wealth of free and paid-for activities (Segways; Go Ape; archery etc) for all ages (there is a charge for car parking), including the delightful narrow-gauge Moors Valley Railway; an interactive Play Trail through the Forest; delightful picnic and barbecue areas and two scenic lakes. Avon Heath Country Park with walks and other outdoor activities is about ten minutes drive. The New Forest is just minutes away, a fantastic area to explore for young and old and is a popular destination for cyclists, walkers, and horse-riders. Bike hire is available at the nearby village of Burley. We are one mile from Somerley House and it’s all year round events calendar. Bournemouth with its award winning beaches, and the stunning Hengistbury Head are just a short drive away. We are half an hour’s drive from Paulton’s Park Peppa Pig World, for the little ones. There is a Waitrose within walking distance, as well as Sainsbury’s, Lidl; and a good farm shop at Crow, a five minute drive away. There is a great selection of pleasant pubs, restaurants and takeaways in the town, just a short walk away, and we do have The Railway Pub and Kitchen very nearby if you prefer to stay locally.

  • The Dairy is a peaceful, cosy, comfy haven in the edge of the New Forest - a great little place to stay! It was a perfect location for our long bike ride which started at Somerley House - and perfect for recovering afterwards. We didn't mind not having a proper kitchen because there are plenty of restaurants in Ringwood, only a short walk away. Izzy and Mike also kindly provided eggs, jam, bread, milk, cereal, tea/coffee for breakfast. They are a lovely couple and so welcoming and friendly! If we sign up for next year's ride, we'll definitely book here again! : )

  • The large space was both comfortable and fun (with table tennis, table football etc). It was warm with the log burner (in mid October). The location is great for long walks in a beautiful part of the forest. We would strongly recommend the 15 mile round trip to Fritham (though there are many shorter options). Great pub with log fire and good food 5 minutes walk away. Pauline was very welcoming and helpful.

  • Pauline is an amazing host, very thoughtful and generous with her time. Her breakfasts are wonderful! The barn is a perfect base with excellent amenities. Fully recommended!

  • Comfortable, spacious and quiet. Well situated on the edge of the New Forest for exploring. Great breakfast made by Pauline in the morning too. We would definitely return. Thanks Pauline.

  • Pauline was helpful and totally welcoming. She suggested local pubs to eat, walks and texted me on the day to find out time of arrival. The barn was immaculately clean, delicious homemade flapjacks awaiting arrival, wood for the wood burning stove . She cooked a lovely, satisfying breakfast too.

  • Beautiful home inside and out, location is idyllic, would stay again in future.

    Luke2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly, the barn is even better than it looks - the kitchen is lovely, and the bathroom is spacious. Pauline's breakfast was lavish and delicious, and was very accomodating to vegans/vegetarians. Pauline herself was extremely accomodating, informative, and lovely to chat with. Can't recommend this place highly enough! Looking forward to our next visit.

  • We very much enjoyed our mini break in Rockford. Pauline made us feel very welcome and at home. The brownie's we received on arrival were just what we needed after our journey and the breakfasts were lovely and really set us up for the day. Excellent chef!

Eric and I have spent the last 14 months building our new home. We are looking forward to sharing our home with Airbnb guests and even though we still have the outside to do and bits to do inside, we love it and hope you will to. Please do not be put off by this. We offer a generous bedroom with its own en-suite and a simple breakfast of tea/coffee and local farmhouse breads for toasting. There is Wi-fi available and we hope to make you feel comfortable and welcome at Avon Cottage.
Eric designed our home and we have been lovingly building it for over the last year. We live in our home with our little schnauzer Blue and we look after Annie a Labrador during the week.
Ringwood I am led to believe has 11 coffee shops. Plenty of restaurants, Italian, Thai, Tapas and Indian. Pubs which you can walk to from our home. Day tickets can be purchased for Coarse fishing on the River Avon. Horse riding. 12 miles from Bournemouth and its award winning beaches and lively nightlife and 15 miles from Salisbury where you will find the tallest Cathedral Spire in England. Various fashion shops and a market every Wedneday in Ringwood. Moors Valley Country Park you can walk to from our home or cycle. It has Go Ape, golf course, play areas, lovely trails/tracks to walk and suitable to cycle through too. Plenty of walks around the New Forest.
  • Really enjoyed our stay at Avon Cottage with superb hosts Susan and Eric. The house is spacious and very clean and we would recommend it to anyone

  • Susan and Eric were very friendly and welcoming, and were flexible about our arrival time which we found very helpful. The house is stunning, and our room was light, spacious and spotlessly clean.

    Adie2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Susan's place for two nights and we enjoyed it. Though the house is still in a building state (almost finished), we had a very pleasant time there. The room is spacey and has a privat bathroom. The hosts are very nice people and you feel very welcome :-) The area near The New Forest is very nice, quiet and easy to be reached by the car. Privat parking on the property. An easy breakfast is included, but all you need is there. We would recommend a stay at this place, regards, Frank&Ingrid

The site once formed part of Ibsley RAF base during World War II and Little Gate House was one of the original maycrete buildings. The block of stables that you look out onto is the old latrine block and a couple of Stanton air raid shelters are in the paddock. Literally to the rear of the cabin is the open New Forest providing a whopping 140,000 acres of stunning landscape to explore. Horse riders frequently go by as well as wildlife such as the New Forest ponies, cattle, donkeys, deer, foxes, badgers and an abundance of birds such as owls, woodpeckers and buzzards which are often seen circling above the trees during the summer months. Well designed, the Little Gate House provides a compact yet light and airy space. Inside the fully insulated bespoke cabin, you'll find all the comforts you would expect from luxury self-catering accommodation. Living room open plan with fully equipped kitchen/dining area with full height ceilings, a wood-burning stove and double French doors opening onto a large area of south-facing decking. Cosy bijou double bedroom with full height built-in wardrobe and extra storage space above the bed useful for storing bags etc. En-suite bathroom with over-bath shower, basin, electric ladder radiator and toilet. Wooden floors throughout. Many guests have described Little Gate House as being "Small, but perfectly formed and equipped with everything you need". Enclosed private garden to the side of the cabin ideal for your dog to stretch their legs! Although guests have the convenience of access straight onto the New Forest, there is also quick and easy access to all main roads for visitors to explore the many villages, towns, cities and beaches that Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire have to offer. Riding stables 1 mile, watersports/fishing 2 miles, award-winning 'Hockey's Farm' shop and café 10 min walk, the lovely 'Royal Oak' thatched pub and restaurant 20 min walk, 'The Potting Shed' café at Hyde 20 min walk. Ringwood (with a Waitrose, Lidl and Sainsbury's) 5 miles and Fordingbridge (with a Co-op and Tesco Express) 2.5 miles. To walk to Hockeys Farm - left out of electric gates, walk up track behind our property and take the footpath on the left at the corner of our boundary fence, walk through paddocks padding my riding arena and across bottom field. Turn right onto the country lane and follow it to Hockeys Farm keeping to the left as you go. To walk to The Royal Oak - turn left out of electric gates and follow track to end and turn right onto the quiet country lane which will lead you to the pub which will be on your left. To walk to The Potting Shed - go left out of electric gates, go up track a little way and take the first right turn at a house called ‘Gorley Firs’. Walk to top of hill and stay straight and then walk down the hill onto Gorley Common. Walk straight across the common and on the other side of it you’ll walk up a short hill to a forest car park. Walk through the car park and turn left onto the country lane and follow it round to the cafe which will be on your right in a hamlet called ‘Hyde’. ***If the dates you would like to book won't fit into the booking calendar then please message me and I will try to accommodate you. ***We also have a fantastic newly built shepherds hut ('Maurietty') on with Airbnb which would enable a group of 4 people to come away together (2 in the hut and 2 in the cabin). ***Please note that WiFi can sometimes be unreliable due to our countryside location despite the area recently having fibre optic broadband installed. It’s something we’ve learnt to live with - thank goodness for 4G!! ***Extra charge of £20 for a dog payable in cash during your stay.
The New Forest is a former royal hunting ground in the south of England. It was created in 1079 by William I (known as William the Conqueror) as a hunting area, principally deer. Nearly 1000 years later the ancient landscape of his ‘Nova Foresta’ remains almost unchanged and in March 2005 was designated the 8th National Park in England. The park lies mainly in south-west Hampshire, from east of the Avon Valley to Southampton water and from the Solent coast to the edge of the Wiltshire chalk downs covering some 140,000 acres. It is a unique area of historical, ecological and agricultural significance, and retains many of the rural practices conceded by the Crown in historical times to local people. Principal of these is the pasturing of ponies, cattle, pigs and donkeys in the open forest by local inhabitants known as commoners. It is an outstanding recreational area for walking, cycling and riding. North Gorley is a hamlet in the New Forest National Park. Its nearest town is Fordingbridge, which lies approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the hamlet. North Gorley is very quiet and has narrow country lanes which we share with ponies, donkeys, cattle, deer, horse riders etc. North Gorley has one inn, The Royal Oak, which claims to be a former Royal hunting lodge and is a 5 minute drive or a 15/20 minute walk and serves great food. Guests can also walk to the award-winning café and farm shop 'Hockeys Farm' which is approx. half a mile away in South Gorley . They serve an all day cooked breakfast and also provide a bike hire service. It's a 5 minute drive to the A338 which gives access north to Fordingbridge and the medieval cathedral city of Salisbury, and south to Ringwood and the A31 east to Southampton and west to Bournemouth and Poole. It's a 25 minute drive to the South Coast's beautiful beaches. The New Forest is known as a lovely tourist honey pot, but there is a big local secret: the north west quarter is quiet and remote. This is the 'proper' Forest with lovely quiet countryside, animals galore, and even on a bank holiday weekend you can still walk for miles without meeting another person. However, The tourist towns and villages such as Burley, Beaulieu, Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst and Lymington are all easily accessible and well worth a visit. Our favourite is Lymington which is a beautiful 35/40 minute drive through The New Forest going through Burley. Beaulieu is also very quaint and picturesque with an Abbey and there's a lovely walk from Beaulieu village centre to Bucklers Hard.
  • Jo could not have been a more helpful host, providing us with all the info on how to reach the place and recommendations for once we were there. The little gate house itself was cute and comfy and exactly what we needed, with stunning countryside views. Would highly recommend and will be booking again!

  • A lovely little hideaway cabin on the edge off the New Forest. The cabin in cosy & quite private on the edge of the larger property, surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is very well equipped, and lovely and warm on cold nights! Would reccommend!

  • Fantastic comfortable stay with all the amenities you could want. Additional touches of festive decorations made us feel right at home. Full kitchen for cooking. Quiet location separate from other accommodations on the land gives it a secluded feel. Nice local strolls even after lots of rain. Jo was a great host and able to answer any questions whilst giving us the space to enjoy our weekend.

  • A beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. Sparkling clean. It has exceeded our expectations. Couldn’t recommend highly enough x

  • Nice scheduled area, perfect for a quiet trip away. We took our bikes and went on walks. Great location, we went to Bournemouth for the day which was only a 30 minute drive. Would definitely reccomend for anyone.

  • We had such a wonderful stay and would definitely come again. It rained a lot on one of the days but with an information folder full of things to do we fillled our day. We also went on a great bike ride through the forest which we’d highly recommend. The cabin is cosy, warm and very well thought out with everything you need, and with such a beautiful view. We couldn’t have had a better time and plan to come back in the summer. Thanks Jo!

    Olayinka2019-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this break for hubby & our dog as he enjoys these type of holidays. Although this is not something I usually enjoy, Jo's hospitality, cabin and location is amazing and it has me wanting to return. The cabin has everything you need, it is very cosy and clean. Loved getting the log burner fired up and playing the board game provided. Although a little chilly it was lovely sitting on the terrace, with a cuppa and looking out over the field watching the horses. The whole area is full of beautiful walks, we saw many wild ponies and donkeys. Many of the walks are pretty flat, good for those with walking difficulties. Hockeys farm shop is worth a visit, lovely breakfast and a chance to see some farm yard animals. This is a great place to get away from the stresses of city living. Wifi is provided as Jo mentions this isnt always at 100%. However for a couple who are very reliant on tech, this was actually a god send as we could escape from it fully for 3 days. I would highly recommended the Gate House. Thank you Jo, look forward to our next visit.

  • Loved out stay at foxhill farm. Was met on arrival and given the key to the shepherds hit. Very nicely decorated inside and has all the amenities you would expect, including sharp knives for cooking which is always a bit hit and miss in most places and a couple of homemade cupcakes! A Out the front is a large garden, which is fenced in around the whole property. Next door is the recreation ground, which you can just see through the bushes. There was noisy teenagers on the rec grounds playing music, but they left at 10pm on a weeknight so not sure if this would be bothersome on a weekend. When we stayed it was very warm, but the hut stayed cool enough with the windows and door open. Made having breakfast on the terrace very pleasant! You can walk to Alderholt village where there is a co-op and pub, this is down a country lane with no path halfway and took around 15 minutes. Anything else you would need to drive. Overall we all loved our stay and would definitely return.

One of 3 recently converted stables named after breeds of horses and ponies. Shetland is our cozy holiday cottage yet still provides a king size bed with Egyptian cotton bed linen. The lounge diner is open plan with the kitchen and looks out over the yard. To the front is a courtyard with outside tables and chairs. The bathroom has a large bath with shower over. Underfloor heating throughout. Private parking space. Very quiet and peaceful. Front courtyard with hot tub and use of BBQ upon request
Shetland retains many of its original beams and features. It has been lovingly renovated and provides very comfortable accommodation. The kitchen has a grill/oven combination and Belfast sink. FreeSat TV in lounge/diner which also has a 2 seater sofa bed and dining table. Very well appointed bathroom. The front courtyard is large and features a hot tub and upon request a gas fired BBQ. There is no extra charge for using the BBQ or hot tub.
The holiday cottages are situated on the edge of the New Forest National Park and directly opposite the yard is the entrance for the Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve. Easy trails through the Nature Reserve lead you to the Forest, Rockford Common with Highwood and Linford all within easy walking distance. Ringwood is an easy, level, 20 minute walk and has many first class pubs and eateries. The Cottages are an ideal base for visiting the Forest or just for relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of wine or cup of tea. We welcome guests having picnics on the Manor lawns next door. The yard is unique as it is far enough away from town to be in the country but close enough for any essentials or nights out without having problems getting back.
  • Debbie and Martin were friendly hosts, providing a welcome pack on arrival and making sure we had everything we needed. The stable is cosy nicely decorated and the kitchen/ bathroom were equipped with everything we needed for our stay. • The accommodation is of a high standard and finish. Quiet, despite being close to a busy road. Excellent facilities. Would definitely return.

  • Debbie was a great host. Upon meeting us at our arrival she gave us excellent tips as to walks in the local area and the nearest places to eat. Shetland is a great place to stay, very clean and furnished in a modern way, still retaining the old stable feel. If you're planning a trip to The New Forest I highly recommend using this as a base.

  • Absolutely gorgeous place to stay in. The extra little touches like locally sourced soaps/smellies and also breakfast bits (bread/jams) were very sweet. We met both hosts also, and they were very friendly and accommodating! The place is super close to the New Forest too! Absolutely recommend staying here if you are looking to visit the New Forest, can’t thank Debbie and Martin enough!

  • The cottage is perfect for exploring the New Forest and the nearby coast. There was everything we needed for a relaxing few days away and the hot tub was a great addition. Our whole stay and experience was very relaxing and easy. The welcome basket was also a lovely touch.

Our family home is close to Moors Valley Country Park in a quiet residential road on the edge of the New Forest and the lovely market town of Ringwood. Bournemouth and the beautiful beaches are only a 15 minute drive away. The lovely double bedroom features a new double bed and comfortable mattress. There are tea and coffee making facilities and a TV in the room. Our family home is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.

  • Joanne is really warm and welcoming and their family home immaculate. The room is super comfy and the shared bathroom has a super power shower. Had the weather been warmer I'd have loved to sit out in the garden. Lots of good walks in the doorstep and perfect for me as a base to visit my daughter at the Sheiling Steiner School.

  • Fantastic place to stay. My wife and I stayed as a stopover in between moving houses and the location was perfect for our jobs. Jo and Alan immediately made us feel welcome. The communication beforehand was all timely and upon arrival the room and whole house was immaculatly clean. The room was a great size and the bed so comfy! 6 great nights sleep! New bathroom and great overhead shower! In the evenings we're sat in the lounge and chatted to all the family and also had access to the kitchen. The garden was lovely and it was also nice to sit on the conservatory and watch the sun go down. Great hosts and you won't be disappointed with a stay! Thanks again for having us.

  • Joanne and her husband were very friendly and welcoming. We were going to a wedding which they kindly dropped us to and didn’t mind out Kate return! We slept very well and enjoyed sitting in the suntrap garden chatting to Joanne in the morning!
