The Airbnb Community Fund

Created in 2020, the Airbnb Community Fund is part of our commitment to serve our stakeholders and give back in the places our Hosts call home. The Community Fund will distribute $100 million USD by the end of 2030 to strengthen communities around the world.
We work closely with stakeholders, including Airbnb Hosts, to identify causes that are important to them and support organizations making a difference in those areas. These include issues like environmental sustainability, economic empowerment, mental health, and ending abuse and exploitation.
Partnering with Hosts
Airbnb Hosts play a critical role in the Community Fund. Our Host Advisory Board helps identify causes to support, and local Host Clubs nominate organizations to receive funding. In 2023, these included:

Your questions,
answeredHow does Airbnb identify which organizations receive a donation?
Hosts and other stakeholders help identify organizations to consider for donations each year. At this time, the Airbnb Community Fund does not accept grant applications or unsolicited requests.
How can Hosts get involved in the Airbnb Community Fund?
Airbnb Hosts are encouraged to join their local Host Club in order to nominate organizations that are having a positive impact in their community. Airbnb also works directly with the Host Advisory Board to identify causes to support.
Are Airbnb Community Fund donations restricted in use?
The Airbnb Community Fund leverages trust-based philanthropy and provides the majority of its grants as unrestricted monetary donations. This allows recipient organizations to determine the best use of the funds.
How does the Airbnb Community Fund measure the impact of its donations?
Organizations are asked to share a short narrative report on how their funds were used, and the impact the funds had, at the end of each grant cycle.
Are all Community Fund grant recipients nominated by Hosts?
Airbnb distributes Community Fund support in a few ways. We partner with Hosts to identify causes that are important to them, and Hosts can nominate organizations that are making a difference in those areas. In addition, Airbnb Employee Resource Groups help direct Community Fund donations to support causes important to their members. Airbnb also directs funding to additional organizations that we believe play an important role in the communities where Hosts live.
