The quote unquote "Heart of Osaka" it has served as a backdrop for numerous films including Ridley Scott's "Black Rain" starring Michael Douglas. He reportedly was inspired by its building facades covered by neon signs and video screens to make the cityscapes of Blade Runner. It is lively just about any day of the week and packed weekends.
