The remains of St. Piran's Oratory and also the 'church in the dunes'. The location where it's believed that St. Piran landed after being thrown into the sea by the Irish with a mill stone around his neck. Also an amazing place to take dogs for walks - large open space with lots of rabbits, other walkers, and occasional horses. You can walk right out to the beach, along the shoreline and then back along the MOD permissive path.

Only 20 minutes walk north of the caravan is the 'lost oratory' which was the site of a 6th century early Christian church established by St. Piran, an Irish missionary who was the patron saint of tinners, and the most important saint in Cornwall. It lies a few hundred yards west of the ancient church ruins & cross that also bears his name, Walk north to the perimeter of Perran Sands Holiday Park & look for a cross on top of the highest sand dune. From the large concrete cross (built as a landmark) survey the whole sandy wildlife reserve, the oratory with the nearby ancient church ruins a short walk further north, This is a must see while staying at the caravan with or without dogs.
