If you've made it to the Foster-Powell neighborhood you've got to grab a latte from Carnelian; another locally-owned gem! For all the rock-hounds out there make sure you check out the carnelian in the shop as well; most of it was found by the owners!

Portland is also known for coffee, and this nearby shop won't disappoint. Grab a cup or pick up freshly ground beans to brew yourself.

This cafe serves our favorite (and so far, the most affordable) drip coffee in PDX and my personal favorite cortado. They also carry a locally made chai by One Stripe that is fantastic and have all the dairy alternatives for dairy-free folks.

I go here almost daily - about a 10 min walk from the cabin. They serve toasted bagels and have some breakfast pastries, but are mainly about the coffee. Check out the amazing Jade tree in the window. Indoor seating, some outdoor seating.
