Yagul is home to the most important ball game court in Oaxaca and remained occupied up until the Spanish conquest; whereupon the inhabitants were moved to what is now Tlacolula a short distance away. This delightful small set of ruins makes an interesting day out for all

Small pre-hispanic ruin which is open to the public and set in a very quiet and not often visited site. Great place to walk and enjoy nature. A ways out of the city.

A post-classic (1200+) site that rose after the fall of Monte Alban, about 30 minutes east on the road to Mitla. Explore the site (bring water and a snack), climb to the top for a picnic with a view.
