Open late Spring to early Fall. Scenic trail along the water that connects DL Bliss and Emerald Bay. Option to do a smaller loop for a less extensive hike. $10 parking. Just under a 30 minute drive to DL Bliss State Park

The Rubicon Trail in South Lake Tahoe connects two of the most beautiful state parks in all of California, D.L. Bliss and Emerald Bay. Five miles each way along the shoreline grade, 10 if you don’t have two cars to shuttle, $10 to park at each of the parks. In the winter the road to the parks are closed. Get there early as both lots fill up fast. I would recommend before 8:30 AM, especially on weekends and during the summer. Not recommended for young children as there are exposed cliffsides.

google this! there is a 5 mile in and out trail (10 miles round trip). worth it. not that difficult, some up and down. take a break with amazing lake views the entire time! Day trip
