At the death in 1221 of Saint Dominic, in this convent of the order he founded, work began on the church that took several centuries to complete. An extraordinary feature is certainly the ark that contains the mortal remains of San Domenico, made by famous renaissance sculptors form Tuscany, by Niccolò dell'Arca and completed by the divine Michelangelo. But there is more: the beautiful 16th-century choir; the sepulchers, the cloister.
