Aalto University is located at the Otaniemi campus approx. 3 km from Tapiola. It was established in 2010 as a merger of three major Finnish universities: the Helsinki University of Technology, the Helsinki School of Economics and the University of Art and Design Helsinki. The campus has several interesting buildings planned by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. It has developed into a versatile hub for innovation, research and entrepreneurship - worth a visit and easy to get to by metro.
