According to the records itnwas built in 1539. By it's shape this church didnt then,nor with its later reconstruction, belong to the standardized medieval architecture of the Serbian Byzantine churches. This fact serves to dispute the legends and stories that Prince Andrija , the brother of the Ottoman vassal, Prince Marko ,had built this church by the end of 14th century.
