The walls of Ston are unmissable, literally unmissable, after the Great Wall of China they are the second longest defensive walls in the world, plus you have a lot of restaurants with fresh and delicious seafood (especially oysters)

Ston city walls consist of the main wall and three forts (Veliki Kaštio, Koruna and Podzvizd), forty-one towers, seven bastions, (Sokolić, Arcimon in Ston, the three bastions of Veliki Kaštel, the Podzvizda bastion and the Arcimon in Mali Ston), four pre-walls (the eastern and south-western Ston pre-walls, the Mali Ston pre-wall and the Korun pre-wall), and a water-filled moat that stretches around the western, southern and eastern edges of Ston. The construction of these magnificent walls began in early 16th century. Ston was built according to the plans approved by the Dubrovnik government and is considered one of the best planned and best structured cities in Europe.

Ston is placed about 50kn to the NE from Dubrovnik. It has 2nd world largest city walls (1st in Europe). There is a salt factory (they harvest a salt in an ancient way, just using the sun and sea (which is extremely clean there), and the final result is the top-quality salt! You have to buy it and try it! Ston is also know for its maritime cultures such as oyster and mussels farms, also top quality! Ston is placed in Peljesac peninsula which is known for its premium Croatian wine brands, such as Dingač or Postup.
