Colombo's Buddhist Cultural Centre has a lot of books and information about Buddhism. It's good to go if you would like to spend a couple of hours reading about Buddhism.

This also called the Buddhist Cultural Center. It has a huge selection of english Buddhist books... They will ask you to take off your shoes before entering. Better to cover shoulders and avoid wearing short shorts. There is a restaurant on the street level with very tasty food.
