This area is lucky to be surrounded by numerous National Trust Properties all worth a visit, the closest being Montacute House and Barrington Court, both about a 15-minute drive. Other national properties in this area include Lytes Cary, Stourhead, Stoke Sub Hamdon Priory to name just a few

The ancient house of Lytes Cary is surrounded by beautifully laid out, manicured, formal gardens. There are also splendid circular waymarked walks with views around the edge of the estate. Near Somerton, Somerset, TA11 7HU. Please check their website for opening times.
