If you want real local (simple) food experience go here! Great place also for kids, you cannot make reservations so need to be a bit lucky if there are seats left but most of the time they accomodate well. They are cheap but offer good quality.

A "living room" restaurant that exists almost 100 years. You can get typical dutch food there for a really friendly price. They just won the price of best Schnitsel of Amsterdam!
