Nice hiking/recreational area close to University. A bit further into the area there is a waffle hut (check opening times, usually only open on Sunday).

A nice place to find trails, and you can go to the top "Omvendte båt"(the upside down boat) to have a good veiw over Kristiansand. The trip to this "boat" takes about 2-3 hours from Tors gate.

Seek to the forest if the wind is bothering. Jegers has some nice small beaches if you dont want to jump into the water from a cliff.
