Have amazing fun with the whole family on Smiths Lake and Sandbar Beach all year round. Hire boats at Frothey Coffee or launch your own at the boat ramp.

This beach forms the barrier between Smiths Lake and the ocean. 4WD access permitted but a licence is required. Please take care of our environment! Take care of the vegetation. You can paddle across from Serendipity to the Sandbar. Dogs kept on leashes are permitted onto this beach, which is subject to 4WD use.

Popular spot with keen fishermen, you can choose between the tranquil water of Smiths Lake on one side or the wild ocean beach on the other side. The southern end of the beach and lakeshore also forms the northern boundary of the Myall Lakes National Park. 4WD access to the beach is located at Bushlands and Sandbar Caravan Park. A beach permit is a requirement but I still haven't got one.. Just saying!

Sandbar Beach is a local beach to Smiths Lake where you can drive your 4x4 onto the beach with a permit and enjoy fishing, surfing, paddling or just fun building sand castles with the kids. You can obtain a beach permit from Sandbar Campsite shop.
