Really great 2 person accommodation in a converted dairy that makes for a really distinctive and private place to enjoy the Solway Coast landscape. Warm, comfortable and well equipped, with easy access to Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall as well as the northern part of the Lake District, and a lot of other fascinating places. Great hosts, always very helpful. All in all we had a great 6 days in a very nice cottage, in a very memorable location.

Raphaela was an incredible host and made me feel welcomed even before I arrived. Her home is beautiful, well appointed with modern amenities while also being a characterful period property in keeping with the character of the area. Raphaela is a wonderful cook, and breakfast both of the days I stayed with her was something to look forward to.

she truly went above and beyond, offering to collect me from the end point of my walk when the weather turned and giving me a lift into Carlisle the next day.

I would whole-heartedly recommend this as a place to stay to anyone visiting the area, it truly made the end of my trip special and comfortable in a wonderful way!

We requested late check in due to the travel down there which they were more than happy to accommodate. The place we stayed was brilliant and better than anticipated. The facilities were a really nice addition and we even got time to pop in the pool which was really nice. It was lovely time away with my partner and the host is incredibly friendly. Would recommend.

Raphaela is a very friendly and engaging host. Her place is situated in a very quiet rural location. The heritage-protected guest suite renovation is situated at one end of the house, with a private entrance, and separated from her own precinct by the guest breakfast room. It comprises a very large bedroom with king-size bed on the 1st floor, along with a separate loungeroom, and a dedicated bathroom on the ground floor. The bed was comfortable and everything in the bathroom worked well. The full English hot breakfast was enormous, made with quality ingredients, and the coffees were especially good. Access to the guest suite is from a cobbled courtyard at the rear of the building , where there was an outdoor dining setting, which was perfect for enjoying a quiet drink at the end of the day. I look forward to staying there again in the future. Highly recommended.
