I had a great stay at Joni and Carsten's place for 3 months during the summer. There are plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby, and the apartment is within walking distance of the subway. The apartment was comfortable and served as a good place to return to after a long day. With it being a basement, it also felt nice coming back to a naturally cool room after being outside on the hotter days throughout the summer. A bi-weekly cleaning was offered, which I appreciated, given the duration of my stay. Joni and Carsten were great hosts. They were friendly, responsive, and frequently checked in to make sure my stay was going well. I would recommend their place and would definitely stay there again.

Joni’s place was a great base for us in NYC - clean, spacious and in a great neighbourhood with lots of cool places to eat and good transport links. Joni herself is one of the best Airbnb hosts I’ve ever had - she is friendly, communicative, sent all the details we need, and most importantly fixed any issues that came up. The heating broke one morning and she made sure a plumber was there straight away. You are truly in safe hands with her!

Space-wise, the bed and sofas are comfy, the internet works, and the kitchen is good and well-stocked. It’s worth keeping in mind that this is a basement flat with minimal natural light. It’s great if you’re out and about a lot, but if you’re spending a lot of time there in the day just make sure to check that it’s what you need. If it suits you, though, I hugely recommend staying with Joni.

I had a very comfortable long-term stay here. The neighborhood has everything nearby: grocery, laundry, restaurants, pharmacy, and subway (for an easy commute to Manhattan). The apartment is spacious, clean, and well furnished. Joni is an attentive host, and made sure that everything was in order during my stay.
