1 heteI really enjoyed the tour with Eileen, the location was truly somewhere we couldn’t have reached on our own! The Soni Highlands was a beautiful and tranquil place with breathtaking views of the rolling grasslands and mountains. The whole day felt peaceful and unhurried, and we also got to enjoy delicious traditional food at a lovely local spot. Eileen was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, which made the experience even more memorable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a relaxing escape into nature and an authentic local experience.

2025. augusztusThis was such a beautiful experience to see the lush green hills and mountains of summer in Japan. Eileen was a fantastic host and provides a fun and multifaceted tour.
Some of the stops include a shrine in the forest with a lava shaped rock wall. After that is a cozy local vibe lunch spot where we got cold soba noodles for a refreshing option in this intense summer heat. Then a hike through the Soni Highland trail up to a 849m summit and gorgeous view of the nearby mountains. After that, rest your body in the bliss of a local onsen. There is a farmer’s market to stop by after that to buy some local artisan products and treats.
This is such a diverse and fun way to the Japanese countryside and in different ways. I can’t wait to come back to this region someday. Highly recommended!
A few tips: bring cash for the lunch and onsen. The farmer’s market accepts cards. Make sure to check Google Maps in advance for routes to Haibara Station from your accommodation.
