The Pond House is such a unique and serene place. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and wish we could’ve stayed even longer. I’m sure it’s beautiful any time of year but the fall colors only enhanced our surroundings that much more. Im a traveler vlogger and have stayed at multiple off-the-grid locations, highly recommend Gayle’s place. Charlie (the dog… is just a bonus). Oh! And my husband has not stopped talking about the bed! <3

Gayle was communicative and explicitly clear in her description of The Pondhouse and amenities. Her directions also were very clear. She gets 5 stars for managing expectations.

As for The Pondhouse, Gayle describes is as "magical," and here again, she is spot on. It is a beautiful location and an enchanting hideaway. Everything from the furniture, bedding, decor, outdoor shower, etc. is well appointed. I noticed and loved the small details — from the practical perfectly placed hooks to the candleholders and tea lights that were provided and helped enhance the magical experience — that went into creating this little oasis nestled into the woods. Taking a wam shower outdoors in nature was good for the soul.

My husband and I went on this much-needed getaway, and it did not disappoint. It rained our first day there, and it was cold but the blankets were more than adequate. For me, it was a chance to reflect and recharge after the recent loss of my mother. We would definitely return.

I waited 7 years before finally pulling the trigger and visiting The Pond House. It did not disappoint! Gayle and Peter have managed to put a getaway in place that is majestic to say the least. Even though it rained for the majority of my stay, I was cozy and quite honestly entranced by the sound of the rain on the rooftop. It was hard to get out of bed! Charlie, their pup, came to visit several times to play with my dogs. He is so gentle! Gayle even took my 10-month old out for a stroll. Thanks Gayle!! Hope to be back soon!

We had a lovely weekend stay! It was so peaceful and wonderful to unplug and relax. Gayle was very helpful with local recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. The outdoor shower was pleasantly warm despite the cooler temperature outside and it was great to be surrounded by nature. The composting toilet/outhouse was the cleanest I've ever seen, better than a port-a-potty. Having the outdoor sink and cooking equipment was so helpful. We cooked all of our meals besides heading to County Pie Pizza per recommendation from Gayle, it was delicious! We walked to the Lake while we waited and then sat outside on the porch with our dog once it was ready. We also loved having their dog Charlie come to visit us and sit by the fire. He was very sweet and friendly and even guided us and our dog up the trail to the hill for a scenic view. The Pondhouse is magical and cozy at night with all of the candles and blankets provided. The bed is also SO comfortable!
