My female friend and I had a good time in New York, but if I had known more about this place, I probably would have chosen differently. There was a "long-term guest" staying next to our room who left the shared spaces very dirty—shaved hair all over the bathroom, trash left for days with a bad smell, and unwashed dishes piling up after cooking.

The host, whom I never actually met, was nice to talk to over chat, but overall the experience was a little confusing. The air conditioning attachments were poor, so we could hear outside noise from our bed. Also, the bathroom didn’t feel prepared for female guests.
