This was my first home stay in India that genuinely felt like I was in the good graces of the actual owner, and not just a hotel staffed by teams of helpers (though there’s nothing wrong with that either). Amita took a genuine interest in the research I was doing (on the vernacular architecture of India) and promptly set about listing places I needed to go and people I needed to meet.

I felt comfortable and safe in my room, and on certain nights even had the good luck of being greeted by a sweet black puppy in the corner of the living room, which then had the unfortunate effect of compelling me to spend hours watching puppy videos online instead of working on my research. My project is about dog houses now — thanks, Amita.

I booked a room at Magpie villa and found it to be a very comfortable place to stay. Amita was very accommodating for specific requests I made. The villa is beautiful and in a nice neighborhood just walking dstance from Jaipur's famous lassiwala :). Overall, I would recommend Magpie villa unhesitatingly.

Located near great restaurants and easy access for auto rickshaws. Great coffee nearby! If you neefing a good espresso. Tasteful furnishings and textiles. Highly recommended!
