This experience was unlike anything we've ever done while traveling. It was a deep, immersive dive into Cuban history told through the lens of music, curated from the incredible vinyl collection of a local DJ and music producer.

DJ Jigüe was not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also a gifted storyteller who seamlessly wove together Cuba’s social and political history with the sounds of each era, from the 1930s through the 1990s. Every record he played added another layer to the story, and you could feel his passion and respect for the music and the culture behind it.

We left genuinely excited about the new artists and genres DJ Jigüe introduced us to! There are definitely a few names we'll be keeping an eye out for next time we’re digging through crates at a record shop. It opened up a whole new world of Cuban music for us that we hadn’t explored before.
