Our son gifted us a fun San Diego food experience. The afternoon was a great way to spend a few hours shopping at the Hillcrest Farmers market followed by preparing and cooking a delicious lunch with Chef Simone at the chef’s home kitchen! The mushroom, truffle risotto and stuffed zucchini “boats” were delicious.
Chef Simone was talented, fun and engaging. We enjoyed meeting and sharing our meal with new friends too!

Me and my fiancée went on this experience and it was awesome. Our host was thoughtful, talkative, respectful and very knowledgeable about food. It was a learning experience, but also felt very comfortable and relaxing. We will be doing another class when we come into town! I highly recommend doing this for anyone wanting to try a fun and engaging experience!

Fabulous. My partner and I arrived early after a short walk from the Old Town trolley station. We peeked into the cute shop in the Old Town Urban Market, unsure if we were in the right place. There was a small group inside and we started to step out to wait, but were welcomed in like old friends by Francesco’s infectious smile and boisterously friendly hospitality.
After introductions, Carlotta had options for our tasting inside or out; we chose the patio. She began with a history of Mexican wine making. During the conversation she mentioned a Portugués orange wine. Having never heard of orange wine, she offered to let us include it as one of our three tastings.
The tour was a perfect balance of history, tasting notes, and friendly conversation. Between each pour she gave us time to chat and enjoy the wines; the entire experience was a wonderful combination of meeting new friends, with a romantic and intimate experience.
