Emanuele’s place is lovely! The view from the deck in front of our room was simply breathtaking. It was a joy to wake up, sit in the comfy chairs and watch the ocean change colors as the run rose! The pool has European charm with flowers and tile. It became a fun place to meet other travelers. It was a short walk up the driveway from the room we stayed in and also had a kitchen and outdoor dining area next to it. The room had everything we needed- nice hot water in a small shower with good water pressure, fridge, mugs, fan, etc. The bed was comfortably firm. The rooms are located up the hill from the main area of Taormina, which can be reached via a path of stairs (around 400 of them). I was traveling with my six year old son and he was able to do the walk no problem but it was a haul. Not something we would want to do more than a couple of times each day and definitely not carrying more than a backpack. Everything was so wonderful but the most memorable part of our stay was the host! Emanuele was so kind and hospitable. It seems like he truly cares about his guests and enjoys helping them have an amazing stay in his city. He picked my son and me up from the bus when we arrived and drove us to the train when we were leaving. He checked in on us each day and helped us make the most of our stay. He even got everyone’s orders for lunch and had it delivered for all the guests at the pool one day. I’m super sensitive to fragrances and Emanuele went above and beyond to get us different sheets (cleaned with another detergent) when my skin broke out. He simply said, “don’t worry - I’ll find a solution” and then showed up with said solution an hour later. When dropping us off, he told me to contact him for anything I needed during the rest of our stay in Italy, and that we had a friend in Taormina. I believe that I do!
