Gerald was an extremely knowledgeable guide. He has a quiet personality, which adds to the comfort and relaxation. We knew we didn't want to do the typical group tours, and had no interest in the "rock slide". We didn't want to waste our day with a million other tourists. We were looking for a private tour guide who wouldn't take us to the typical spots at El Yunque Rainforest. I spoke with Gerald about the trip expectations and saw the pictures and knew this would be a much more intimate encounter with the rainforest. And it was! He basically pulled off the road at a random spot and said "we are here" with no parking or trail indications around. He told us about the plants, gave some history, pointed out some things along the way, and brought us to some amazing spots. He showed us clay rocks, which my son loved! We saw literally no one once we got out of the car. We were able to crawl around on the rocks, swim in the cool water, and get great pics of small waterfalls along the river.

What an incredible experience! I’ve never seen something so beautiful and private in my life. I would recommend for anyone seeking an adventure away from the more populated tourist areas!

A wonderful day exploring El Yunque! Each watering hole and swim a lot along the waterfall was more amazing than the last. The host was very knowledgable, made everything so comfortable, and was an expert in his field! I will use him again when I come back with a different group!

Gerald was an incredible guide! Highly recommend. We got to experience El Yunque in such a unique, and very private way. No other tourists in site. We swam in three different waterfalls and hiked thru a beautiful part of the rainforest. The hike is challenging and steep, so definitely consider this with your footwear choice.
